Stupid shit you see on the internet

@Stockcar86 i mean..its an accurate description, so can we really say its stupid?
-
Not entirely sure where to put this but it is internet related and certainly stupid.
Completely entitled self important moronic fucktards that probably still don’t understand or admit the effects of their stupidity.
They ignored explicit advice from both the government and fellow travellers.
Now the country has likely had to call in favours or play bargaining chips to ensure their release. Favours that are now not available for others that may get into trouble.
Our foreign affairs were put on hold with regard to criticism of current activities in Iran making us look weak.
They were told to stay away, not use cameras or drones and ignored it all because it was “their right”
On top of that, “Topher” (yes that is the fucktards name) is a Richwhite of Fay Richwhite infamy. A company that has already cost the country millions.
But still, thousands of other idiots will continue to inflate their egos on Insta because they are influencers! -
-
@voodoo Come to think of it, spending time in an Iranian jail would be a pretty effective way to offset your carbon emissions
By eyes see 'influencer' and my brain reads 'self-entitled underachiever whose hypocritical utterances appeal only to retards'.

I don’t need to read that article. Just the term “social media influencers” gives me enough information.
If ever there was a title that boils my piss…
I just can't get my head around how the brains of people like this are wired.
Most people see something cool and think "this is neat, I might take a photo for future reminiscing". They think "great, an opportunity to put my bikini on/ take off my shirt, pose and show the world. I will also tack on some comment about how I am saving the world"

In a way I support his right to choose.
You just need to say you're sikh and you have the right to choose anyway...
-
@Crazy-Horse oh and yeah, I can see that argument, the sticking point for me being that it's not all about the person wearing the helmet - I can only imagine how devastating it must be to have killed someone in an accident.

@Bones said in Stupid shit you see on the internet:
This raises an interesting dilemma: Free to not wear one, but stupid if you don't. A position that sums up my feeling on the matter.

Yeah I will always wear one. Full faced one too. I fell off once and my helmet away scraped like hell at the front. That would have been my face if I had an open faced helmet on. Not to mention all the bugs that would be hitting ya face.

When I was much younger I t-boned a motorcyclist when I was on a push bike. He had an open faced helmet and it was his face that brought him to a stop. Not pretty even at really low speed. It had a lasting impact on me.
I find it interesting that you hold the same position on this as a mate of mine who was also a cop: Shouldn't be illegal, but stupid if you don't.

Seat belts too?
That’s the problem with assessing an individual right of choice. The impact on society and their “right” to not have to clean up after your stupidity.

Yeah it's a balancing act. Go too far and freedoms are taken away, don't go far enough and others suffer.
Generally speaking I can't stand laws that protect me from myself.

Yes, same principle applies. I get that legislation and enforcement was considered necessary to adjust behaviour at the time, but laws shouldn't exist to prevent people from making decisions that impact themselves the most.

Well, that's their choice of employment isn't it?
