Had Covid so started watching some shit:

Wednesday: This wasn't bad but the Gomez casting was terrible. Gomez is supposed to be suave and somewhat sophisticated, not a fat, repulsive deformed troll of a man. Zero chemistry between him and CZJ (who was good).

Willow: I loved the film as a kid but this was a sick abomination. Holy shit this is bad. Even shittier than the SW sequels. Doesn't help that Warwick Davis refuses to act. The absolute definition of phoning it in.

Kobra Kai. Just wow. How this series keeps smashing it is incredible. The poster child for taking an existing IP and making it awesome rather than effing it up.

Agree with you about the Gomez casting, it was a shocker. I really enjoyed Wednesday, call it a real "guilty pleasure".

Willow sounds like another The Rings of Power. Will avoid then.

However, Alaska Daily looks to be one to watch.

Watching Our Flag Means Death on BBC iPlayer. Rhys Darby stars as a 17th century English upper class gent going through a mid life crisis and turning to piracy. A bit What We Do In The Shadows esq, but not as funny initially. Get through the first Ep or so and it picks up and becomes surprisingly enjoyable. Taika Waititi also stars as Blackbeard. Good supporting cast.

Much of the non slapstick humour was topical and relevant to the times. Still funny if you remember those days though. So stupidly anarchic.

@Tim oh cool, what platform, or on the raging river?

they had The Detectorists on Netflix (in NZ at least) but was only on there for a limited time.

BBC has it. No need for dodgy downloading when you can easily stream.

Don’t even need a VPN for Brit fta streaming platforms.
Chrome plugin for Streamlocator does the job. No fee.

The Young Ones was great fun.

Never more so than when they’d have pointless musical interludes like this one.

Fairly sure I shared this recently but it’s awesome so I don’t care.

Without doubt the zenith of Mayall/Edmondson humour is Bottom. Absolutely brilliant.

Series tattoo is definitely better. Much of it was how outrageous it was. Bottom live stage shows were peak, I've probably watched the first one a hundred times

Wife and I just finished "The Flatshare", kinda quirky English RomCom and have to say, we both enjoyed it. So if looking for something easy to watch with your partner, it's only 6 episodes, then I'd suggest this.

    On Paramount+.

Wife and I finished watching this last night, as you say, enjoyable and easy watch, and earnt me some brownie points!

Finally watched Stranger Things S4. Have left it so long due to the stupidly long episodes. In then end I just thought of it as one long movie and watched in 50 minute blocks.

While still thinking the episode lengths are stupid at least they showed that you can pull off the long episodes season and multiple story locations that GoT final season failed at.

Watched the entire 11 seasons of Modern Family, overall I thought it was very good, plenty of genuine laugh out loud stuff, some great characters, actually is a bit sad that it has finished.

    The Rig on Amazon Prime

This is amazingly shit. The plot is terrible - if it was a painting it would hang on the fridge. The acting is community play level, made worse by the sole qualifier during casting of overacting or hamming it up.. The CGI is obvious.

It is easily the worst thing I have watched so far this year.

Indeed. Ms Cato No1 was badgering me to watch it but has since come back and said whilst Ep1 was good, it’s gone downhill quickly.
