Anyway, to keep on topic, just finished watching S3 of Jack Ryan.
The problem wth the movies was that although Ryan was a former Marine he didn't use guns when he should have (Clear and Present Danger) which just seemed stupid.
The problem with the TV show is Ryan is Delta, Navy Seal, SAS (all of UK, Aus and NZ), and Spetsnaz all rolled into one super soldier. He could probably beat up Jack Reacher too.

Agree. A nice little back story but not actually necessary and certainly not worth a whole episode when there’s only 9 in the first place.

We also found out more about Ellie's past and that, like Joel, as she said previously, she had lost people too. I've read that lot of what happened at the mall is directly from the game.

The CGI alone is amazing.

I've had this in my queue since I read about it when Squid Games was all the rage but then forgot about it. Will try to remember to watch it.

The game just became available on PC - or is about to? And I'm wondering... do I buy/play the game? Or just download the TV-series from RagingRivers, and shoot a pretend-gun at the baddies as I'm watching? -

I’m halfway between you and @Bovidae . I enjoyed it, and it did endear Ellie to me a touch after absolutely hating her in the last Ep - but I’m not sure they needed a full episode to achieve that.
Definitely a unique series!
