@number9 well the thread is about bolters I thought, not discarded players who aren't exactly screaming out for selection.

Numia would definitely be a bolter, alas he'd be the smallest front rower in international rugby by a fair margin I imagine. You're not going to fight the giant Irish props by bringing in a midget who can throw a well timed pass.

This guy? You mean he is too light? Only about 5-6kg off standard prop weight I would have thought.

Stevenson 100% I'd probably pick him to start in the back 3.

Roigard to get some time, with a view to him being the long term 9

But this is the same as everyone else, so pointless post really...

      Fully agree on Stevenson.

Barrett hasn’t looked like breaking the line or scoring a try in about 2 years.

The crest on the front is bigger than any “name” on the back .

      We can’t afford any sentiment.

It’s “4 more years boys” after October.

@Steve Could we see a situation where we had two speedsters like SS and WJ on the field at the same time this year? SS with a big boot and Jordan with his electrifying pace, how they would fit in together, I am no expert.

Would Aumua be a bolter for hooker?
Would love to see him come on after Taukei'aho

@Darren It would be a scary sight for opponents for sure. Aumua is a real unit and can really control a rolling maul, not to mention cause chaos when he runs free.

For me it’s Stevenson or Jordan at FB with the other on the right wing in the Cory Jane, Ben Smith mould.

Sevu Reece or Telea for 11 I suppose. (I’d rather Ioane but we have no centres).

Clark grinds my gears. I’ve never seen a lad hit so many gaps and then not “take it to the house” . He gets reeled in or falls over his own feet.

The dual pivot thing ruined Mo’unga and Barrett at international level. The lack of clarity done them both a disservice. Barrett in particular has had a precipitous drop off. It ruined our ten and messed up our back 3 for the guts of 4 years.

Will Jordan still hasn’t started at 15 for fuck sake.

We finally got Jordie into the right position , we now need Fozzy to sort the back field ASAP. Having Beauden jogging around throwing silly offloads and cross field kicks inside his own 22 will do us no good long term.

I don’t even think its too difficult to solve to be honest. Ireland are kicking everyone’s arse with Mack Hansen James Lowe and Hugo Keenan as the back three. They catch their kicks, they kick well in return and and get plenty of touches each game.

I still wouldn’t take them over any of our options and I would wager if they were on these shores they wouldn’t be in the squad. Well , with Lowe we already have evidence he didn’t make it here.

Always had high hopes for Rayasi but think it’s too late for him.

On Stevenson he looks like he is bigger these days. He was a noodle for his first few years in super.

Rayasi is related to Stevenson funnily enough.

Salesi Rayasi is 26 years old? We don't have that many wingers, he may have a chance with injuries...

@Bones you're right the thread is about bolters but when posters talk about Vaai and Tuipoulotu then it is beyond that. It is called semantics, stop being argumentative for the sake of it.

@number9 Not sure how you discard Norris as a grafter and include Hodgman. The latter's best is very good, but I think he lacks consistency and accuracy. The value of Norris is his work at the breakdown - he is a turnover winner - and his handling / ball carrying. Just not sure around his scrummage power. But, I think we need a high energy prop who does a whole lot extra. Numia and Williams are restricted by their size.

It might not be totally related to how he plays rugby I reckon.

The player stats on the Canes website are not updated every year. So it likely shows his weight (hes bulked up since then) when he first played for the Canes

The one below was updated recently.
Numia is shown as 1.89m and 116kg. Not huge but he's not a midget (slightly ligher than Owen Franks). Still only 24.

                                          Rayasi

@nostrildamus He looks a bit like he can be rocks and diamonds. If he can tidy some of the errors he could be phenominal.
