malpractice which went on at the now-closed NHS Tavistock Gender Clinic in London.
Some of the stuff was genuinely horrible. A big step back is really needed.

Paediatric Nurse tells me it was known what was happening there for years but critics either shouted down or threatened with being labelled as transphobic and disciplined. More chance of being disciplined for using the wrong pronouns than malpractice in the NHS, apparently.
Why this shit is allowed to cause these harms is beyond me.

Its the same as the lobotomy and worse still the icepick lobotomy , the doctors that did it actually thought they were helping people despite occasionally turning them into zombies . It was so mainstream that JFKs sister Rose had it done and she ended up in care for the rest of her life. We look back on that and think how the hell were people so barbaric ? Look at the situation now with Dr Teetus Deleetus etc,
I think everywhere but here its peaked though, we'll be stuck with activists, media and politicians making dangerous fools of themselves for a few years yet.
To NZs shame this was actually kicked off by a kiwi. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Money
The most famous victim of his experiments https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Reimer
Like a lot of the pro child transition activists he had a lot to say about what I'll refer to as the "reduced age of consent" . Its on his wikipedia page if you want to see what I mean /

"Money argued that media response to Diamond's exposé was due to right-wing media bias"
I continue to be amazed how every alleged childcare scandal is always a right-wing media conspiracy theory - until it's exposed as an actual, real-life, sickening child-abuse scandal which as gone on for years.

The famously right wing British communist party has just spoken out about the lunacy of self id etc https://www.spiked-online.com/2023/03/30/why-capitalism-loves-transgenderism/
One of the reasons I never got into J K Rowlings work was because the only times I ever heard anything about her was when she was being a nauseatingly preachy leftie who was all for things like open borders and retconned one of her main characters into being gay as a troll.
Apparently now she's far right because she opposes self id.
Whatever she said in the past I have a huge amount of respect for her not caving to the mob on this and I enjoy seeing trans activists making a big deal about burning Harry Potter merch they already paid for and getting their Harry Potter related tattoos removed. Apparently getting them removed is far more painful than the actual tattoo.
Guy Pearce on the other hand sent out a press release this week with a grovelling apology that looked like a forced confession from a captured american bomber pilot during the Veit Nam war

I say open it up. Women are enabling this BS so let them deal with the consequences.
I think you are very correct. It might help them come to there senses.

@antipodean well, as far as I know, in the media, there's only one person that is openly questioning Leah Thomas's involvement. You would think if they really thought it was unfair, with conviction, they would've en masse not raced her to make a statement. Perhaps it is behind the scenes but their silence indicates timidity to me.

That’s a pathetic response.
God defend New Zealand because it’s beyond that idiot.
He went full Sturgeon, everybody knows you never go full Sturgeon.
I do wonder what cretins like him thought when they were watching “that scene “ in the Crying Game? “
“ yep everything seems perfectly normal…….wait I don’t understand, why is he so angry?” -

He’s apparently single at the moment so his dating life is going to be interesting I guess .
He hasn't worked out in his own mind yet what a woman is? Fuck me.
A member of that class of political animal convinced of both their own superior morality and the wilful ignorance of those who disagree.

What do these guys think is going to happen if they answer "adult human female"?
Are they genuinely that scared of <1% of their voting base?
He’s been trying to portray himself as “Chippy from the block “ a down to earth working class boy from the hutt who’s focused on bread and butter issues .
It only took one question to remind everyone he’s a career politician who’s completely immersed in politics and utterly out of touch with the general population.Massive , massive own goal on his part .

I don’t follow local news that closely.. did Hipkins answer get much coverage? Or did the local media just ignore it?
No coverage on Newshub, the Herald or stuff.
Sean Plunkett who asked Hipkins the question managed to get himself permanently suspended from twitter today and they are all covering that though .
Hipkins is trending either first or second on Twitter here though . He was thrashwanking today about criticism of Ardern being misogynist and then couldn’t say what a woman is. This is basically impossible to parody now.

Was speaking to my parents over the weekend.
Despite being pretty up to speed on NZ events, neither of them had any idea of the violence against Nana's at the Trans rally in Auckland.
So you can be pretty sure that him coming across like a moron here won't be coverage. Yet, if he'd said something that could vaguely be offensive to trans .... well, watch the shit fly.
