@george33 Is he going to choose rugby or cricket?

If you had a choice you'd go cricket wouldn't you? More opportunity to make money and less chance you'll end up a vegetable later in life.

Unfortunately covid meant the 2020 World Rugby U20s in Italy was cancelled and Sullivan may have been used at 1st 5. We'll never know. The wider training squad did include a number of other 10s (Reihana, Morgan, Love, Stu Cruden). He really needs to play there for Auckland first.

@Stargazer Versatility. He already has something of a kicking game. The solution may well be using someone from another position.

@Bones He has filled that role if he can perform at 10 for the Crusaders.

Good choice gives him two years to cement that starting 10, role. If not, I'd imagine off overseas for moolah whilst still young enough

Very Crucial signing for 2024 no real other options.
As I do not want to see Razor talk the NZR in to selecting overseas players,SR has enough problems without potentially our top 15 or more players out of SR.

Zarn Sullivan stood a few times as a first receiver against the Tahs and looked impressive there. But it was only the Tahs and I guess McDonald will keep BB as his 1st Five. I really hope he can prove his worth next year as a 1st Five.
Interesting that nobody has mentioned Josh Ioane. He was good in the few minutes he played for the Chiefs this year, before his injury. I am not sold on his ability to control a game, though.

@Chris One thing that could work, would be letting URC, MLR and Japanese Top League players have the opportunity to play NPC and become eligible to play for the ABs. The argument against this is that it would open the floodgates. End of the day Super Rugby players needs to be paid more and if they can find a solution to that problem, no one would be leaving Super Rugby at the rate they are,

Could Jordie play 10 if he could it would be one hell of a bow to his string. Just a thought.

Jordie comes across as barely having the brains to run in the right direction. Can hardly see him being a game general despite his physical qualities

@cgrant Whoever takes over next year as Blues coach will certainly be after another option at 10, if Zarn can step up at 10 if given the opportunity, he could be in contention.

what? Unsure why you think this

He's played in 4 diff positions for the ÀBs so must follow instructions and speaks well enough

Don’t need someone that follows instructions. More one that runs the show.
I have only watched him play live twice and both times it was the players around him directing him.
Absolutely he can run, kick and pass and has the size and athleticism to play multiple positions at a high level but he’s no game runner.
    A bigger version of BB.

@Crucial Can anyone remember if Israel Dagg ever dabbled at 10. I remember him having a very powerful boot which was useful at times.
