@Rancid-Schnitzel wouldnt those actors then be entitled to royalties for using thier image/likeness? Isnt that another part of the issue?

That's a different matter entirely. I would support that. I believe another big issue is getting actual streaming figures for the payment of residuals. Alot of dodginess there.

4.5 Wicks of 5 Blondies
Can any peeps who have seen this let me know if it's dubbed into English?
I've seen a bit of a trailer and they're speaking English, but I've been looking for a subtitled version in cinemas here in Oz (it's only just come out - they picked a bad week with Barbiehiemer) and it's unclear if it is English or Finnish, although google claims both.

Actors striking right now. And as usual, a monumental lack of self awareness. Robots taking jobs? What a new concept!
Ironically there's a whole raft of people whose jobs have been lost to AI, automation and technology generally in the movie industry. But I guess they aren't the ones in front of the camera...

If the chimpanzee, typewriter, and Shakespeare scenario can be realised with AI, then I’m all for it
The amount of garbage which gets released each week is ridiculous

Kandahar - Gerard Butler, Travis Fimmell
Butler is a former MI5 agent working as a contractor in Iran, shit goes down, he goes to Afghanistan and is then on the run to Kandahar to escape not only the Iranians, but the Taliban and other people wanting him for the bounty.
Typical Butler film, plenty of action, plenty OTT, but moves along at a good pace and isnt 3 hours long
3 Nissans with seemingly unlimited fuel out of 5 motorcycles that did eventually run out

Sounds like Gerard is really branching out for this role

I honestly can't remember if I've seen this.
I thought I had... but all the recent Middle-East set films, and Gerard Butler being Gerard Butler... I don't know.
Is it the one that started with the protagonist pretending to be a linesman-for-the-county, resulting in an underground Iranian nuclear facility being blown the fuck up? If so - I'd forgotten it was the Butler that did it. -

@taniwharugby Not sure I can "thumbs-up" a non-alcoholic beer.
But - it does remind me - I discovered just this morning that this coming Friday is International Beer Day.
I just cracked a beer to get in practice. -

Saw a poster for this today. Pretty punchy tagline ...
Probably won't see...
My boys tell me the original is shit.
They enjoyed Jaws heaps more which makes me quite proud actually. I thought it might be a bit slow and dated for them but they really rate it.

Assault on Hill 400
Stars: William Baldwin, Michael Madsen, Eric Roberts...
Haven't actually watched it yet. I'm trying to summon the strength to do so.
