Kandahar - Gerard Butler, Travis Fimmell
Butler is a former MI5 agent working as a contractor in Iran, shit goes down, he goes to Afghanistan and is then on the run to Kandahar to escape not only the Iranians, but the Taliban and other people wanting him for the bounty.
Typical Butler film, plenty of action, plenty OTT, but moves along at a good pace and isnt 3 hours long
3 Nissans with seemingly unlimited fuel out of 5 motorcycles that did eventually run out
Sounds like Gerard is really branching out for this role

I honestly can't remember if I've seen this.
I thought I had... but all the recent Middle-East set films, and Gerard Butler being Gerard Butler... I don't know.
Is it the one that started with the protagonist pretending to be a linesman-for-the-county, resulting in an underground Iranian nuclear facility being blown the fuck up? If so - I'd forgotten it was the Butler that did it. -

@taniwharugby Not sure I can "thumbs-up" a non-alcoholic beer.
But - it does remind me - I discovered just this morning that this coming Friday is International Beer Day.
I just cracked a beer to get in practice. -

Saw a poster for this today. Pretty punchy tagline ...
Probably won't see...
My boys tell me the original is shit.
They enjoyed Jaws heaps more which makes me quite proud actually. I thought it might be a bit slow and dated for them but they really rate it.

Assault on Hill 400
Stars: William Baldwin, Michael Madsen, Eric Roberts...
Haven't actually watched it yet. I'm trying to summon the strength to do so.

Jesus Christ. Is Gary Busey in it as well?

My experiences with my own boys have convinced me that it's not just nostalgia or me being chronically unhip. They genuinely made better and more entertaining films back in the day.

I assumed given the cast this was a relic from the 90s, no, it was released this year !
Aren’t those boys a bit old to be playing Soldiers ?

I hadnt seen this before...man I hope they do a good job and isnt just another sequel we didnt need
-
....that cant be real....theres several shots of the delorean from Ready Player One (love that film)
99% certain thats a fan edit
-
@Kiwiwomble I didn't check for credibility but now in doing so, you are probably correct...which is actually a good thing.

I’m fairly sure MJF has said he would never be in another BTTF movie.
….and ( sadly ) would he even be up to it ?

@MN5 might actually be one of those few film trilogies that is just left as that, all made at roughly the same time not decades apart...all of similar standard so....theyre great
Yeah like any great film series I wonder what became of certain characters…..
But while Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Alien, Terminator, Predator etc have released some good stuff lately on the whole it is not a patch on the originals we remember as kids.
-
@MN5 was going to challenge Predator....but i really like Prey and would be happy t have more like that throughout time....samurai in feudal japan being an obvious one...medieval european castle, knights and shit would also be cool
-
….so this just showed up

I'd say it's just a matter of time before Back to the Future gets remade. I cringe to think about it. I'm just glad they haven't touched the Goonies yet. But I guess the idea of a bunch of kids voluntarily going outside and riding their bikes is a foreign concept these days.
