Apparently the Springboks won something called the Qatar Airways Cup for winning that game. That will be a great bit of trivia for years to come.

Each and every match I’m baffled that Telea and Jordan see so little of the ball

Aside from Roigard no one looked remotely like breaking the gain line and/or scoring a try this evening

Razor will have Jordan at 15 next year and he will look like the second coming of Christian Cullen after a few games.

      Criminally under used at 15.

Think of his try against Ireland where he took the ball up the middle in his own 22 and went the long way round Sexton.

Now think of him getting the ball in that position 4 or 5 times a game.

FFs back to 2022 we are just not good enough to win the WC this year.
That was a lesson dealt to us by SA,
Back to the can’t handle pressure shit dumb rugby under Foster.
We looked like boys against Men.

I don’t know that we held the ball for more than two or three phases. We were so poor at retaining possession we never got into a pattern that used our wingers.

            Lomax looks cooked.

Upside is looked to be more an impact injury (So not an MCL/ACL etc.)

Downside is, even if it is a six weeker, that is him down for the WC.

@frugby His knee was opened up by the plastic boot studs of one of the Boks.

            Time to ban those again?

One bonus is there is absolutely no expectation from me we will win this WC, probably first time I have ever gone into a WC feeling that. I can enjoy the cup without pressure and if we do turn it around I will be stoked.

You had expectation we would win in 1999 after getting destroyed in Sydney in an eerily similar scoreline to this game pre RWC?

Another concern was the anonymity of the most capped player in the team.

Worried about the situation at 10.

I cannot visualise Mo'unga or Barrett schooling the French or Irish and after today the Boks.

                        I just can't see it.

                        Flat track fly halves.

I haven't seen a dragging a game by the scruff of the neck performance from ether of them in recent memory.

People definitely weren't saying this after we schooled the Boks at Mt Smart and Richie Mo scored 20+ points...

But do you get my point? Ive seen Carter turn the tide on his own when we are getting pumped (many times). Brisbane 2008 (I think it was Brisbane) was a god like performance for example in a defeat.

Carter could get us down their end, eek out kickable penalties due to field position and pressure.

Take it to the line and engage their backrow.

Sexton does that every game aged 37. Beaudy and Richie are hovering around behind pods of forwards.

DC and co were very good at (well everything) playing percentage footy was a given .... play in the right areas of the field
We didn't effectively exit once today- and its hard to recall them trying to exit properly more than 1 or 2 times... we put a lot of pressure on ourselves with creative "anti-exits" eg Bombs, and cross kicks, and compounded it further with poor handling and options.

The best exit was when Roigard banged it all the way down and the Bok had a poor return and we got territory. Simple stuff really.

The first half took 60 minutes to complete.

110 Queen Quids to watch the refs, touch judges and TMO take centre stage.

                                Both SA’s choice

                                Not entirely. We chose to:

                                • Forget how to catch
                                • miss easy shots
                                • play dumb footy in our 22 (costing two tries)
                                • throw poorly to lineouts
                                • give away dumb penalties
                                  and
                                • play with, on average, a man down for the whole match.

                                Excuses? Maybe.

Remeber just over a month ago we made them look equally average.

Honestly, that first penalty not given and I don't see this happening.

                                  And Jordie Barrett’s defense tonight
Sam Cane was just not there
                                  Jacobsen not good enough
De Groot smashed in the scrums

                                  Fucking everything was a concern.

I hope Foster has enough space in his dairy for all the lessons from today.

@Chris think the scrums sans SB for 55 mins is not a major, handling and lineout were abysmal.

We need a meme of Foster at the chalkboard Bart Simpson style rewriting the same learnings over and over.
