I understand those wanting to defend S Barrett. He's been good this year and mostly shelved the brain farts.
But that dive into the ruck - which was already decided mind you, and on which he would have zero effect - with a leading shoulder was the pinnacle of fucking idiocy

That may be the "saving grace", that they didn't treat it as a legit test and got hammered accordingly. But if so that's a very sad reflection on the ABs these days.

We tackled at 83%. Won't win like that.
Apparently, 554 metres run for SA and 474 for us, why so close? 98 for Roigard making that looking much better than it should do.
DeGroot conceded 5 penalties. Ouch.
ALB stat line: 1 pass, 2 runs, No metres, 1 turnover, no tackles made, 1 tackle missed. Not exactly the impact we are looking for from the bench. Sadly, I don' think there are other options that provide enough cover.
@gt12 were at least 2 lineouts in thier 22 too, cant afford to squander that field position

The non selection of Finau is a huge mistake IMO. In a game of this intensity, against a massive forward pack, you need a big bruiser at 6. Jacobson isn't but I wouldn't mind see him wear the 7 jersey as he tackles well. Papali'i miss on Smith was a shocker.

On the game overall, it took an age!!!! Fuck ref and TMO that was a shit spectacle. The first half especially was NFL. Set piece to set piece and whistle.
No issue with the penalties they were there, but with the TMO it just takes so fucking long. And I'm not sure all really needed to be blown.
If this is the standard for the world cup it's gonna be a bit of a grind
