He got a penalty and the team fucked up his pit by bringing both the AT drivers in at the same time. Could have easily finished P9 or 10. Should have enhanced his reputation and will have a chance to race at least once or twice more with Ricciardo out

Lawson got out of Q1 and qualified 12th. One place behind Tsunoda

        Another impressive showing from Lawson.

Was pitted twice and finished 11th whilst most others only pitted once.

Lawson's teammate conked out in the warm up lap.

Verstappen is quite spectacular, not the aggressive tool he used to be. Yes he is lead driver and in by far the best car, but he's smashing his team mate as much as the rest of the field

Yup still getting smashed. 12 wins vs 2, 364 points vs 219. I don't get your point. Red Bull are leagues ahead of all the other teams and Verstappen is leagues ahead of Perez.

Oh no doubt Perez isn't as good as Verstappen, but I think it shows the advantage the car has when Perez can drive like shit for half the season and cruise to second. Bearing in mind Perez is clearly deemed as the 2nd driver.

Verstappen is something else, but my point is even with an average driver, the car still leads the pack.

@Bones Isn't that inevitably the case.

All the legends of the last 50 years almost inevitably had a far superior car.

Alonso and AM would have to be happy with their efforts though.

F1 has always been a technology battle, always struck me as odd in regards to the ego's of some F1 drivers knowing full well that if next year they got a dud car they'd be struggling at the foot of the table regardless of how hard they tried.

Still keeps the sport entertaining I guess.

Lawson makes q3, gets 10th 5 spots ahead of Tsunoda.

Awesome qualifying both Red Bulls out Q2.

                            Norris destroys Piastri.

Great result for Lawson, looking quite at home under the โ€˜bright lightsโ€™ of F1. Riding a positive wave and thatโ€™s what being a rookie in F1 is all about! Onwards and upwards, would be amazing if he could pick up a points finish in one of these two opportunities he probably has left this season.
Piastri hasnโ€™t looked quite as comfortable on track at Singapore so far, few good laps but not consistently comfortable. No doubt will be looking forward to also having the full set of upgrades Norris was running on his car for Suzuka.

Also, nice to see Verstappen and Red Bull are not unstoppable. Not hooking it up in practice doesnโ€™t usually stop them hitting the right lines come qualifying. Will make for an interesting race where overtaking is not so easy.

After watching a bit of Drive to Survive, I totally agree. I did not realise how much having commercial backers who will bring money to the team matters. Lawson is a very talented driver with much less backing. But either way he will be a success, whether it be for AT or RB in future, another F1 team, or in Indy car or anyone else who will pay drivers to race

He's Japanese in a team with Honda engines. The person to move on would be Ricciardo, but they probably want him for car development.
