There are some average episodes, but overall I reckon those writers were visionary. Some of the things they dreamt up that have since come true are just amazing

Netflix is broken. For some reason kept skipping back on the rear view of Salma crawling. Bloody thing.

    We have also watched this.

You can call it propaganda all you want, but there are some facts that come through - mainly that the crowd abuse that he and Posh faced was disgusting, given he was a 23yr old kid who didn’t even deserve to be sent off. English football fans can be a pretty horrible specie.

Without doubt, but also he was a preening, petulant, narcissistic, averagely talented football player that was hyped from arsehole to breakfast time and wallowed in all that hype.

Ooof, rough. I thought he was pretty good, certainly did a few things with the ball that most others couldn’t. As for being a dick (I summarised your description), I can only imagine what sort of piston wristed gibbon I would have been if I’d given that spotlight and cash at that age. Probably a little more than I already was

The Hour with Dominic West and Romola Garai.

Re-watch after about 10 years. Awesome

The Long Shadow - Good ITV series about the Yorkshire Ripper, which highlights the errors made by the police and thier narrow focus that very likely saw the Ripper at large for years longer than he should have been.

The Long Shadow (TV Mini Series 2023) ⭐ 7.7 | Biography, Crime, Drama

Did either of you watch Red Riding? It was a 3 part drama series about corruption in Yorkshire and beyond which had implications in re the Ripper. Not based on fact but a bloody good watch.

    @Bones

    George?

It does have Daniel Mays in it, who is also in The Long Shadow I see.

RR is a real melting pot of very good actors. Peter Mullan, David Morrisey, Paddy Considine

The Reckoning. BBC 4-parter on Jimmy Saville and his serial sex abuse.

Horrifying, believable, anger-inducing and hard to watch all at the same time. Steve Coogan gives the performance of his life - mesmerising.

The fall of the House of Usher

One episode in and looking promising. It’s a bit like Sucession ( complete with the arsehole rich kids bickering ) with Supernatural shit thrown in.

Carla Gugino looks disappointing, not sure if it’s her age or they’ve done it deliberately ?

Compelling enough to watch more though.
