Did either of you watch Red Riding? It was a 3 part drama series about corruption in Yorkshire and beyond which had implications in re the Ripper. Not based on fact but a bloody good watch.
-
@Catogrande it's even got George in it!
-
@Catogrande I thought Morrissey plays George in Long Shadow?

The Reckoning. BBC 4-parter on Jimmy Saville and his serial sex abuse.
Horrifying, believable, anger-inducing and hard to watch all at the same time. Steve Coogan gives the performance of his life - mesmerising.
-
@Catogrande no, but will give it a look cheers.

Brave role to take on.
I loved him so much in this role…..

He's an excellent straight actor. Outstanding in Philomena.

The fall of the House of Usher
One episode in and looking promising. It’s a bit like Sucession ( complete with the arsehole rich kids bickering ) with Supernatural shit thrown in.
Carla Gugino looks disappointing, not sure if it’s her age or they’ve done it deliberately ?
Compelling enough to watch more though.

This popped up on my Netflix feed and I couldn't make out WTF it was and whether it was worth watching. Keep us updated as you go along if it holds up please.
I recently watched Who's Erin Carter, which is a switch off the brain Netflix Brit show set in Spain. I'll admit I only watched it because I liked the look of the actress. Was watchable but silly, lots of fight scenes (guys who can't handle seeing women winning fights need not bother watching), a bit of a thriller premise that you'll probably work out pretty early, but only 7 episodes. One thing though, it was extremely annoying that the main character speaks about 3 words of Spanish despite the fact she's lived in Spain for about 6 years.
I started watching One Piece last night, first episode was fun in a world building kind of way. I haven't read the manga so it's all new to me.

The Hour with Dominic West and Romola Garai.
Re-watch after about 10 years. Awesome
S1 of this was great (awesome even
), S2 not as good.

It’s worth a watch and can confirm Carla Gugino gets considerably hotter the more she is in it !

I haven't watched it yet but The Fall of the House of Usher is another series from Mike Flanagan. I enjoyed both The Haunting of Hill House and The Haunting of Bly Manor so I am assuming this will be good too. A lot of the same actors appear in these including Carla.

I've never heard of those two shows. A look at his IMDB and it appears he's a horror guy, I don't watch much horror.

Hill House was fucking excellent

They are all Netflix shows. The horror isn't over the top, and their IMDb ratings are justified.
