Hopefully the break will help us re-group.

To paraphrase Byron, it feels a bit like 1992 again! 🙂

D/L can kiss my butt. How can a team win when they are 200 behind, needing nearly 9 an over?

The way we were bowling I don't think Duckworth Lewis could predict we were defending it either.

Pakistan were all but halfway at the halfway over mark. 202 needed off 25 overs and nine wickets in hand on that on that pitch would have been a T20 chase most teams would back themselves for.

I see we are still in 4th on net run rate...

Black Caps opened a pie shop by the sounds of things.

You know shit has gone wrong when Southee is the most economical

Boult got absolutely smashed. Our bowlers don't appear to be able to bowl a decent team out. We have problems

Indeed. Either a bit past it or not good enough in the first place

Bad captaincy by Williamson when they resumed after the rain break, Sodhi had 10 taken of his over there was rain coming you could see it closing in and Williamson bowled Sodhi again,
and he got smashed for 20 runs.He bowled Sodhi with the left arm bat hitting to a short boundary either side of the wkt right in his hitting arc and that is what happened three 6s in a row straight over mid wkt.
3 balls in to the next over rain came end of game, with Pakistan 21 runs ahead of the run rate.
Knowing Rain was 3 or 4 overs away as it was closing in fast we should have bowled Southee as his changes of pace was working,We may have kept Pakistan behind the run rate.

Props to Fakhar, that was a brilliant innings. His 4th ton against us this year. Bowlers could have executed better, but he was middling everything.

No issues with DLS. We were absolutely on the ropes. A fight back was possible (in a chase like that even one wicket can change the game) but the right call to give it to Pakistan.

We need a good win vs SL to get through. Afghanistan control their destiny but have to beat both Australia and SA to get through. Their nrr in poor so one win unlikely to be enough for them.

Pakistan has the advantage of last mover - they will go into their England game knowing exactly what they need to do.

Given they were scoring at nearly 8 an over already, it was clear they could accelerate.

Think positively. It could have been even worse if Neesham was bowling.

These are just crazy games - with almost zero context.

Turns out that 400 was nowhere near an insurmountable score - it might well have been 50 runs short.

The rain coming an hour late may have cost Ravindra a million bucks. Instead of being the second coming of Bradman, maybe he was the guy being outscored by a man who'd played one game in six months and has a broken thumb?

And maybe Kane was the only guy who knew 400 might not be a good score and that's why he was so antsy around the 30 over mark - and got out playing the big shot.

Afridi takes the record for being the most expensive Pakistan bowler at CWCs - and he's the No. 1 ranked bowler in the world!

It's entertainment, but it's a bit too much froth! The bowlers got slaughtered for the third game in a row.

Slow or faster, it doesn't seem to matter who is bowling, they are cannon fodder right now.

The lack of even playing field is not enjoyable right now, not least for the bowlers!

You’ve hit on all the problems with World cricket in a nutshell.

Shit I love a session of good hitting as much as anyone but it is just ridiculous nowadays. Who would want to be a specialist bowler in the shorter forms of the game these days ?

The Black Caps are far too limited in their bowling attack to go deep into this comp. There I said it…..which is a shame cos the batting is strong as fuck.
