    The Sir Gordon Tietjens 7s tournament was held on the weekend.

    I haven't followed the games or tournament, but the winners were:

    Open Girls: Manukura Pango team
    Open Boys: Fielding High School
    U15 Boys: Palmerston North BHS

    Open Boys MVP: Mosese Bason (FAHS)

    This tournament starts on Friday. I've seen several national squads being named, but no All Blacks 7s or Black Ferns 7s Development teams.

    Some provincial sevens warm up tournaments start soon. One at Whangamata this weekend.

    Counties Manukau Rugby has confirmed a wider men’s and women’s squads that will represent the region at tournaments over the next couple of weekends. Those players will contest the Thames Valley Sevens in Whangamata this Saturday before playing at the Counties Manukau Sevens the following weekend...

    Dawai is in the Waikato squad. Cody Nordstrom made his name in schoolboy sevens.

    The results for the women are encouraging as from what I saw from game 1, Aust were closer to a full strength team.

    Interesting to see Lotu Inisi playing for Tonga. You don't see that many SR players playing sevens after the NPC anymore.
