getting hugely annoyed with Lost, too many things either dont match up with things we know, or are made to appear out of sync (in the daft alternate world) glad it will be over soon....

Have got the first series of Deadwood, which I've heard good things about, and was pleasantly surprised to see Timothy Olyphant in it as well, think he is a great actor, especially as a bad or dark character.

I'm curious if the HBO comedy series "Mr. Show" ever made it down to NZ...?

So, didya like, or not?

Me, I'm a fan.

Love SCTV and Larry Sanders Show, too.

I guess The Wire is probably my fave tv series of the past decade (me and just about everybody else).

For all the cliches about how I'm Captain Anti-America, my favourite TV series is PBS "The American Experience." Never seen a bad episode, and most are superb. You can view some of the episodes online:

http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/americanexperience/films/?film-online

Start with "The Lobotomist," and begin working backwards. That's the beauty - you don't have to watch every episode, but nearly every episode is unforgettable.

holy shit this 'alternate world' bs on Lost is wearing thin.

*****spoliers?? like I'd care

I mean it appears it is a completely alternate, alternate world, with few factors linking back??

Sawyer, not only a cop, but the fact his partner is MIles
Lock, never been mention of a partner (Peggy Bundy)
Jack, any mention of this kid before?
Ben, a school teacher who teaches at the same school as his daughter on the Island, but she isnt his daughter here (not to mention I am sure Ben was born on the island, yet this character seems so different)

Hurley has still won the lottery, which is obviously to do with the numbers that were about in the first series...only thing keeping me going is how the fuck they'll tie it all together and finish it in the next 9 weeks!

Also been watching Deadwood, good series, love Ian McShanes character, Al!!

Also Robin Weigert as Calamity Jane!! <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

also interesting that most westerns most speak so normal, yet the amount of swearing in this is funny, but when you have all these rough tough cowboy folk in the wild west....

Looking forward to seeing that, at least Fring answer bloody questions as they go.

I'm only watching Lost to see how they try to wrap this up, it's bloody painful. Funny TV though, I feel like how they are portraying Sayid at the moment, sitting on a log looking sullen at all the bullshit around him.

yeah but the alternate world in lost only exists so they can drag out another full series, and it isnt just a what if world, it is a this could have happened if all this other shit had gone on before and all culminate on all these same people travelling from Aus.

Keep watching Lost. We are a few episodes ahead, and answers have started to appear. The next episode to air in NZ (Ab Aeterno) was great!

.... and in other news 24 has been cancelled in the US. I wonder if the producers knew this before the end of the current season so they could provide a more satisfying end than usual

I see where Bob Odenkirk is now on the show, playing character Saul Goodman.

Many years earlier he played Larry Sanders kooky agent.

Odenkirk was one-half of "Mr. Show," the HBO comedy UI mentioned above, but I suspect nobody else here has seen.

(The other half was David Cross, probably most familiar on "Arrested Development.")

I've seen quite a bit of Mr Show. Loved the McHutchence vs Greeley III bit.

Oldenkirk's appearances on Tom Goes to the Mayor and Tim and Eric are worth checking out.

Bloody hell, sitting through a movie for 24h, that's mad.

Unless they make it shorter, in which case they'll have to call it "2.5", "1 and a bit" or something like that.
