    'Saracens have dropped a major hint that they have reached an agreement to sign highly-rated Crusaders fly-half Fergus Burke after they started following him on Instagram.

    Fissler Confidential broke the news on Saturday morning that Premiership champions Saracens were close to signing Burke to replace former England captain Owen Farrell, who is moving to Racing 92 next season.

    Burke, 24, was on Gregor Townsend’s radar earlier this year when the Scottish Rugby Union made him a big-money offer to join the Glasgow Warriors and switch his international allegiances to Scotland'.

    Saracens drop biggest clue yet on Owen Farrell's replacment

    Would be a good move for him in fairness. Would he ever become an AB? Probably a Longshot at this stage so it would be good for his International career if he did go.

    @African-Monkey he's just another Brett Cameron, steady without being spectacular. Not a big loss tbh, especially considering Beaudy is coming back to cover 10.

    We'll see. Thought Burke looked to be coming into his own for Canterbury. Whilst this might not necessarily be a great loss to the All Blacks, this is the exact sort of player the Silverlake Deal should be keeping playing Super Rugby.

    Yeah it sucks, and sometimes you need a Beaver!

    He can still get in the Scotland squad, so I guess that is part of his calculations

    Why do these Crusader 10s feel the need to run to the NH now that Coaching Jesus is in charge?
    It seems very peculiar.

    And yet in another thread Strange will be picked because Jesus is a selector, so yeah, you'd think every Crusader would hang around for their inevitable black jumper. Unless of course Jesus hate 10's, which would make him the devil.

    @Crazy-Horse

    The two key selectors have rated him in the past. So I suggested the same selectors might pick him again

    What’s your problem with what I said?

    Nah mate he's a lock. That's a forward, 10's are backs. Locks are usually tall, unless they were a Hurricane the last few years, and wear either 4 or 5 on their backs. 10's wear 10 on their back and are sometimes known as a first five eight or fly half.

    @Crazy-Horse I hope Strange is not picked. He’s definitely not international standard.

    @Canes4life Ryan disagrees. He was the forwards selector that had him starting for the AB XV. Take out two senior locks.. I think it’s likely he makes it because of the selectors history

    @Duluth and there’s guys like Caleb Delany who have been consistently putting out strong performances over the past two years who will likely get overlooked. If we pick guys like Strange, the ABs won’t improve. Strange should be dominating at this stage of his career, especially after learning from Whitelock for so long. He doesn’t have a high ceiling unfortunately, will be a shit selection if he does get picked.

    I am hoping some of those selections were a short term thing, where Ryan was given a job to do in a short time span so he brought in players he knew and believed could do a job for him. Hopefully with more time to work with players from other areas things will be different. Hopefully.
