It was ridiculous how the battle over Scarif had literally hundreds of tie fighters and X Wings flying around yet for the Death Star battle a mere THIRTY rebel ships attacked, and in defence the Death Star launched NINE tie fighters ( we counted them, it wasn’t too tough )
Isn't the Battle of Scarif the reason for so few fighters on the Death Star attack? It was all they had left?
Not sure how to justify the 9 tie fighers, in fact I'm surprised that George didn't add some in when he was
ruiningupdating the movie at various times. -

The nine tie fighters is my main gripe. There would be thousands on there just waiting for a moment like this.
One thing to admire about DV, he wasn’t afraid to get his hands dirty and he didn’t ask anyone to do anything he wouldn’t do.
THAT is leadership

George was too busy adding the self indulgent bits MN5 mentioned before to add something actually important like a fleet of ships to go with the original 9

@MN5 CGI advances have been significant since 1977...
I’ve noticed that too, I still think they need to add a few more ships in the background for the New Hope battle scene I talked about.
Not like they haven’t done it already…..
Funny thing, IMHO when Lucas did the remastered version, added stuff to the Mos Eisley scene and other stuff, to me it felt overdone and unnecessary
i didnt realise there had been that many changes (especially the han shot first scene), the Jabba scene is the one that gets talked about the most obviously
i dont have a problem with most of the changes (quality of some of the cgi aside, i think peter jackson did better in LotR than some of the 2003/2011 star wars stuff), i think in hind sight as ive got older and you learn how big the rest of the star wars universe is...seeing as this is the only normal civilian town we come across...is cloud city the only other one?.....in the original trilogy, its kind of good too flesh it out, otherwise the only normal "people" we see are in the cantina....but yeah, add some more tie fighters...weird he stopped changing things after they left Tatooine.....

Hundreds of tie fighters in the background wouldn’t take anything away from Luke’s heroics as there’s no way they could fit in the gap to destroy the Death Star.
While I’m griping…..why the fuck did Chewie not get a medal and why the fuck did Wedge ( the only other survivor if I'm not mistaken ) not even get on the podium ?
Also when Porkins got shot ( typical, fat slow guy gets tagged first ) one of the pilots tells him to ‘eject’
Haha what the fuck ? Eject where ? Into space with no spacesuit ?

I think we need to give the film a fair amount of leeway. It was revolutionary at the time. Porkins, always makes me chuckle. Chewie did get a raw deal coming up empty on the medal table

Farking love Wedge. The biggest crime was him not getting his own toy at that time. Every bloody obscure alien got one, and even that fat fůck who cried over the Rancor.

Looks like the kind of alien that would order soy flavoured Jawa juice

100 years before Order 66, there was Order 66 KFC buckets.

Another one is that his BMI is higher than his Midichlorian count.

I doubt many are watching the Acolyte, plenty of stuff I can imagine people disliking
But, two things…I’m enjoying the fact it’s at a completely different time, literally only one continuity thought
And the entrance of the Stranger and the subsequent saber fight is pretty sick

I haven't heard good things. But I'm receptive to trying it

I watched the prequels twice and Rise of Skywalker once so clearly I'll watch it no matter how low the bar is.
I'm just waiting for the next season of Andor before I get Disney again.

I wouldn’t go out of your way, little to do with the “main” thread so if you think the stuff you’ve read makes it one you wouldn’t like I’d just leave it

Don’t get me wrong…a bit cringe…not where I would have gone…but better imo that what we got…and I might have done a little fist pump
