It made for a nice interlude meeting up and sharing a beer with good number of doolan supporters, all St. Pats Old Boys, tonight who thought their team was the cats whiskers. I took great pleasure of informing them of the scoreline whilst wearing my Hawkes Bay jersey. It will take a major upset to see Hastings get tipped over in the race to find NZs top school team this year.

The Blues, Hurricanes and South Island will all have different schools representing them this year compared to 2015. The Chiefs will too if Hamilton beats Rotorua.
 
I think the SF matchups this year are Blues vs SI and Chiefs vs Hurricanes so there is the possibility of a MAGS-Hastings final if both teams win out.

Yep much closer for me too. Westlake (or whoever north harbour winner is) usually loses this game by 30 to 50 points. Was 5 all half time!

It appears so. The Top 4 SFs work on a rotation so every region plays the others over a 3-yr cycle.

I'm satisfied with Hamilton BHS's season as getting to the Top 4 was a very good achievement. This SF was close.

It has been done before. I think at least one of the Auckland teams did it when they won the title.
 
Edit: MAGS did it in 2010 - the last time they made the Top 4.
