Hell yes a very close game there. Those fixtures are usually 50-60 point margins.

    Top Four results:
Hamilton BHS 26 v Rotorua BHS 24
Southland BHS 41 v Chirstchurch BHS 20
Hastings BHS 40 v Wellington College 14
MAGS 13 v Westlake BHS 8

The last result is closer than I expected.

Yep much closer for me too. Westlake (or whoever north harbour winner is) usually loses this game by 30 to 50 points. Was 5 all half time!

The Blues, Hurricanes and South Island will all have different schools representing them this year compared to 2015. The Chiefs will too if Hamilton beats Rotorua.

I think the SF matchups this year are Blues vs SI and Chiefs vs Hurricanes so there is the possibility of a MAGS-Hastings final if both teams win out.

It appears so. The Top 4 SFs work on a rotation so every region plays the others over a 3-yr cycle.

The top four is also played in Palmerston North, starting with semifinals on Friday, where Southland will play Mt Albert and Hamilton will play Hastings - a rematch of the Super 8 final which Hastings won 30-8 a fortnight ago. The winners will then meet in the final on Sunday afternoon.

Co-Ed semis:

Aorere College 32 - Burnside High School 13

Feilding High School 20 - St Peter’s Cambridge 6

Top 4:

MAGS leads Southland BHS 18-0 at HT. Too big and fast out wide.

Final score 41-0 MAGS. It would have been more if MAGS kicked their conversions.

Southland just didn't have any ball or territory in the 1st half, especially. Very impressed with Papalii and the capt Reidlinger-Kapa.

Hamilton boys lead 10 to 6 against Hastings at half-time.

The only try in the game scored by Hamilton's Kieran Lee.

18-10 Hastings boys to the final.

Quiz question which I don't know the answer too. How many sides have gone the season un beaten?

Anything can happen in a final but MAGS will be strong favourites based on the 2 SFs. Hastings had some stagefright.

I'm satisfied with Hamilton BHS's season as getting to the Top 4 was a very good achievement. This SF was close.

It has been done before. I think at least one of the Auckland teams did it when they won the title.

Edit: MAGS did it in 2010 - the last time they made the Top 4.

No. Southland was your typical SI team - full of smaller white boys, and MAGS your typical Auckland team full of large Polynesian boys.

I think the final will be an exciting game for the neutrals (I won't be able to watch it myself) as both schools have similar strengths. But I would still favour MAGS. Obviously I hope Hastings wins. :)
