How about Perofeta at 15? He seemed ok there for the ABs I thought..
me too, it really bugs me when these guys get a shot...actually do well...but are forgotten as soon as the first choice is free again, shows a rigidity and makes me question how much the coaches are actually making decisions based on what they see on the field or rather just sticking to their preseason plans regardless

I thought Perofeta did really well. I'd have him in the side and remove a wing.
These days wingers are not so high profile with rush defences and highly skilled back defenders.
Not like in Bernie's heyday. -

Some fragility there. Lineout will be under pressure if Nortje doesnโt go full 80. If a lock needs replacing and Kolisi plays the usual 60, Wiese will have to play the full 80.
What do you reckon they're thinking about our lineout with one small lock, and 3 small loosies, with another small loosie on the bench?

They will see the back of our lineout as vulnerable.

Sititi is an immense talent but realistically he's 7 sized. You could get away with 8.
And then there's Kwagga
-
I know interweb stats suck and all, but Kwagga is listed at 1.8m and 98kg
Sititi is listed at 1.87m and 113kg....1.87 is probably a bit short for a genuine 6, but size wise, 113 is a good size for a ball carrier, that we need
-
@brodean I have loved the Michael Jones and Ardie Savea type of 7s who are great runners. Richie was not as good but could do a job. Sam Cane in comparison was not good and seems a bit slow but heโs grown on me. He tackles well, and if he hits a heap of rucks then, I think he can do enough to contribute toward a good game for the team. Just donโt expect him to be a great runner.
Iโm guessing they are hoping that if South Africa are looking to shut Ardies go forward down, then hopefully Satiti can provide another dynamic running game to split the defence.
@Boston-Boy
While not as fast GOAT contributed more to the win than virtually anybody. On a par with DC.
If DC was fit we probably would have won the WC 2011 in a canter. -
This thread is why we need to bring back tours. Idiots like us need something to distract us in between tests so we donโt end up arguing endlessly about the same bloke and his tackle stats and his perfect doppelgรคnger

I was just going to ask, has LJ not played well for the ABs this year? Granted he didn't have many minutes...

Only started Fiji, which is hard to judge on.

What's the story with Papali'i? Subbed off for Cane on 50 minutes with ABs leading 42-3 at Een Park and then everything just fell apart without his tremendously handsome presence on the field.
I think Razor is just jealous of the man's modeling tier looks (something Ray certainly didn't have in his playing days...) and thinks he's one of those ponsonby latte sipping high buttoned-up collar brogue-shoe wearing blues forwards who care more about their Instagram status than the hard graft?

@voodoo I think you're saying Blackadder resembles McCaw?
He's better.

Sititi and Ratima will probably make a few mistakes.
It doesn't matter. -

Call me surprised, Kolisi is starting and seems his jaw/cheek wasn't broken!!
Fracture to the nose I believe.
Opted to only have it reset after the AB game so as not to miss this one

I thought of Elliot Dixon but the rest were too far back. Elliot Dixon is only 35.
There's been a tonne of squandered talent at blindside so I'm a bit miffed that the current regime are sinking so much into Blackadder who's barely played much rugby at 29 because he's always injured.
A tonne squandered? Hyper-bowl
Thereโs probably 1 or 2 players (max) that couldโve been persisted with in the last 20 years. The rest fall into the category of unlucky timing, not quite there or form/injury issues.
Every single player I listed was more talented than Blackadder.

Telea needs a big game
Clarke was excellent last week.
Telea's form in recent times has been poor. He does seem to suit playing the Boks though.

Careful, when the Boks read this they may make a pact!

Story of the season is surely Blackadder casting off his niggles moniker by being an 80 minute week in week out tyro.
WPOTY incoming.

This AB pack is starting to remind me of 99-01 AB era packs
Undersized try hards.
That were superior to the SA forwards for the majority of the first game.
ABs were also bigger.
We are not a small side, regardless of how strongly that myth is embedded.
We are not small, but we play small. The way our pack carts the ball - flat-footed, trying to put on a step, and then power through a weak shoulder - could not be more different than what the best - RSA, Ireland, France - are doing - running onto the ball at pace and using momentum and plan physics to get over the advantage line.
I was watching this last weekend trying to figure out why. All I can think is we're trying to play safe with the ball while also forcing the opposition to do all the work on defence. We make them come to us instead of going to them, I assume with the theory we get more secure ball and they tire out quicker.
But yeah it's not really working when our bench comes on and pretend they're in some unimportant exhibition match eh.

Same ,I was surprised how ordinary it looked ,
They were catching the ball flat footed and then having a look at the defence before starting to move
All I can think of is they didnโt want to turn it over and were determined to keep it safe as a priority. -

He plays too hard, even for his own body. Remorseless dedication to the shirt.
