Alright everyone, we are saved. Wayne Smith has joined the ABs in Wellington. About time they've brought in a coach with some sense.

Agree 100%.
This feels similar to Panadol leaving - if things are not going right, take action.
If they are wondering if it is their coaching, approach, preparation, fitness, it would be hard to find a better pair of eyes than Smith's.

I said on their own home patch. Unlike AB Canes who can't win in Wellington.

The issue is clearly mental. It almost looks like it's become a block in that it's expected now, and the team struggles as it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy.
Either that, or our fitness is just miles behind the others, which is the easiest way to explain it. The first half was embarrassing for Australia, we looked like we were playing minnows and just couldn't get the execution 100% to avoid it being a 40/50 nil half time score.
Second half it almost reversed. That can't have anything to do with physical skills / ability. It has to be the top two inches.

We don’t use our bench very well either, so it could be fitness or fitness plus bench usage.
Let me put it this way - I highly doubt that the Springbok forwards are fitter than ours (as a collective), but a 6-2 bench and early substitutions makes a world of difference there.

Reiko to move to wing when Proctor comes on at centre after halftime. DMac could be on the bench to cover 10 and 15, especially if Plummer can't handle the jandal. it probably says more about my knowledge about different positions than anything i find is so strange that we often talk about locks playing 6 or visa versa, or 10-15's....but there are very few that we're happy to play both 12 and 13.....in my obviously uneducated mind they seem much similar than tight and loose forward or 10 and 15
we also seem very stuck in the type of midfielders we want...i struggle to see Reiko and conrad smith as the same type of player....or nonu and JB....are we not versatile enough or has the game change so much that those legends wouldn't work as well

Maybe it's the roles within the duos. Little and Bunce also quite different compared to their current counterparts. Ideally you need one distributor and one hard runner, whether they play in 12 or 13

Maybe it's the roles within the duos. Little and Bunce also quite different compared to their current counterparts. Ideally you need one distributor and one hard runner, whether they play in 12 or 13

@canefan thats what i was thinking but then when say someone suggests a 13 at 12....the question doesnt seem to be "who do we need outside to compliment him"....its more "wow...calm down with the radical ideas"

It depends on whether the suggested guy is a midfielder, or a fullback or 10 trying to play midfield...
