With Jordie injured and ALB stinking out the joint 12 is looking REALLY bad all of a sudden.

Don't worry, DH is in the squad.

It's possible considering JB is probably injured and ALB didn't play well. Or a surprise selection of Plummer at 12, him and RI have played together a lot

I'd like to see ALB/RI play after having a full week training together though

I'd rather have DH at 12. He at least had some experience.

And the Fern meltdown will be an opportunity to reduce my popcorn stockpile.

Havili should be nowhere near ABs XV, let alone ABs squad. We need to move on from these weak, old, slow, flawed players. I can't beleive anyone would suggest this.

Well folks, the much anticipated post is here. You can all stop with the backline predictions and start chatting about this weekends backline that you’ll see below. I was unable to get the forward pack but have heard that Tuipolotu is a real chance to be in the 23 this week.

Again, and as I usually say, a very reliable source who hasn’t led me astray yet. If it’s wrong I’ll own it.

If there are any late week updates in regards to the team, I’ll post that in this thread.

Backline for this weekend as follows.

        1. T.Perenara
        2. B.Barrett
        3. C.Clarke
        4. A. Lienart-Brown
        5. R.Ioane
        6. S.Reece
        7. W.Jordan

        Bench
        21. C.Ratima
        22. D.Mckenzie
        23. D.Havili

Without breakdown stats this is fairly meaningless when it comes to 7s.

You’ve really got to feel for a guy like Billy Proctor. Toiled away all season and hasn’t put a foot wrong. Got his game against Fiji and played brilliant. A spot opens up due to a midfield injury and theres a chance he can play his first game in NZ for the AB’s at home in Wellington…. Only for that bench spot go to David Havili. Yikes.

I think he pays for the fact that he’s not real 2nd five cover.

I feel for him but until he can show he covers 12, he feels like a starter or not in the 23 (unless ALB starts at 13).

                            Bench
                            21. C.Ratima
                            22. D.Mckenzie
                            23. D.Havili

                            Billy Proctor the obvious omission.

And with so many changes if the backline doesn’t hit the heights of first half of Bled One it will be near impossible to establish what caused the diminution.

Yikes.

@Landers92 if Patty T fit then feel he ought to be on bench. Any word on Vaa’i shoulder?

I think he pays for the fact that he’s not real 2nd five cover.

I feel for him but until he can show he covers 12, he feels like a starter or not in the 23 (unless ALB starts at 13).

I'd argue DH isn't real 12 cover either.... Or will he continue to dine out on one game in Joburg about 3 years ago

He’s started there at Super level this year though, I’m sure. And has multiple tests at 12 in black. And is a Crusader.

I’m not supporting it, I just think that proctor still has the issue of being a specialist in a position where a bench spot really needs capability to play both.

However, I would have had both Plummer and Proctor on the bench for this game - that covers both.

They could then just rest Dmac and give the young guys time out there.

So the plan to improve the last 20 minutes is to have two inferior players (Beauden and TJ) play the first 60.
                                    Genius!!!

Does anyone need any further evidence of huge, blatant Crusader bias now? A lot of posters on here assured us that Razor was above that.

I'm actually angry. With Foster I expected nothing else, a shit SR coach, hanging on the coat tails of better coaches. Following exactly the same game that was proven since 17 ish onwards to not be effective. Razor, clean slate, innovative and certainly had an idea at SR level, has fallen back into picking players that are not at all performing for no reason apart from 'caps'. Jesus Christ, I didn't expect JC, but at least some innovation and forward looking picks.
I am FUCKING PISSED.* Big Canes fan, love TJ, Ardie, BB - but I can see they are so fucking gone from this level. Add to this adding shit that have never been good like whomever that fucking cantab winger replacing a midfielder is. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK

                                          *If sauce is good.
