All Blacks vs Wallabies 2
-
of all the All Black teams ever named, this is definitely one of them
Tight 5 all good. Settled and in form (i hope EdG remembers to chase with his feet when he is handing Tupou his ass this week).
Loosies? Well Cane deserves a send off, fuck you haters. He was very average last week, but short memories he was big in SA. Sititi earned his retention. I just need to get used to Savea being picked every single minute of every single test for some ungodly fucking reason. I'm actually happy Sotutu wasn't selected so he wasn't getting 10 minutes at blindside every week and this being used as evidence he's no good.TJP at halfback is terrible. Has not earned the same treatment as Sam Cane.
Am i glad someone else is getting minutes at 10? yes. Am i happy it's BBarrett? No. Kick passes back on teh menu this week?
Midfield as expected but ALB needs to find his old form.
Reece is lucky he's been slightly better than Telea this year.
Okay so Jordan is the fullback. At least he won't kick all our ball away. I hope he's worked on his defensive positioning this week because that first Aussie try last week was embarrassing.Aumua is lucky Sami is hurt and there is literally noone else.
I feel for Darry, he hasn't nailed his "have 10 minutes at the end and be good" role. Doubt Pat does either.
Jacobson is a jobber.
Ratima and DMac all good.
Lol at Havili. We're still picking the bench as old school reserves, there to cover injury. Wasted spot on a proven failure. We'll win by heaps despite the Wellington curse. I just hope that we do it while a few incumbents find some form if they are going to be on the team sheet every frikken week.

Sooo Blackadder not on the injured list. Has he fallen out of favour?
He wasn't on the injured list last week either. But he was injured

Perhaps just taken as read, in his case...!

Ethan de Groot, Codie Taylor, Tyrel Lomax, Scott Barrett (c), Tupou Vaaâi, Ethan Blackadder, Dalton Papali'i, Wallace Sititi, Cortez Ratima, Harry Plummer, Caleb Clarke, Anton Lienert-Brown, Rieko Ioane, Will Jordan, Beauden Barrett
Reserves: Asafo Aumua, Tamaiti Williams, Pasilio Tosi, Patrick Tuipulotu, Ardie Savea, Noah Hotham, Damian McKenzie, Proctor
Risk at 12, with Plummer covering (or Ardie!) but a) it's only OZ and b) Havili is a busted flush - move the fuck on
-
Underwhelming as expected. Dalton should be pissed at how they are selecting the loosies.
Havilli is just a bad joke of a selection.
Weak all round.
-
@Kirwan Of the 23 there are seven I would happily never see in an AB side again and another I would drop
Time for a 1974 style clean-out (15 debutants in a squad of 25)?
@dogmeat fun game for another thread maybe, who are the 7

No time for sentimentality when our form is bad, so;
Cane
Perenara
Reece
Aumua
Jacobsen
Havili
Barrett BNow saying I'd be happy not seeing them in Black again isn't quite the same as advocating none of them should play this weekend. That would be too disruptive, but I wouldn't be taking any of them to the NH. They're either past it or haven't got it. Patrick T fits those criteria too in an ideal world.

....way to kill the game

savea to the bench?

Ha ha BB at 10. Cue the meltdowns
-
All I will say is, thanks to terrible squad selections and Crusader bias, the 23 we are putting out this year is nowhere near as strong as it could be.

Agree Havili shouldnât be there but isnât there more of a Chiefs bias in that 23?
-
Jeez management a lot more conservative than I thought they would be.
Maybe hoping on high emotion as a send off for the seniors.
Disappointed Plummer, Darry, Love, Proctor, Paps haven't been given much of a run this year.
Coulda, shoulda used the second half sub system better. Putting someone on for 5 minutes is fruitless -

Yes the All Black squad is not supposed to be a training squad for fading Crusaders.
I don't give a crap about the 'fading crusaders' they are only part of the problem. Tj and BB, Cane? Two are gone at the end of the season and one is well past his best before, esp at 10. Ardie needs a rcoket and should be on the bench at most. This is a pathetic inwards looking selection of caps, not players. Razor, for all his talk, is frozen in the spotlight and unable to think beyond 'not losing'

Yeah, seems that way.
Far less bold than I thought he'd be. -
The saving grace is we have a tight 5 of some ability.

Not sure why we need Jacobson on the bench - it would seem a good test to get Finau on to hit some bodies. Clearly, heâs on the outer until he moves south.
Get off it. Finau was our starting blindside at the start of the year and was dropped because he was poor - universally agreed by everyone. You'll never guess where Jacobson comes from either...

Well folks, the much anticipated post is here. You can all stop with the backline predictions and start chatting about this weekends backline that youâll see below. I was unable to get the forward pack but have heard that Tuipolotu is a real chance to be in the 23 this week.
Again, and as I usually say, a very reliable source who hasnât led me astray yet. If itâs wrong Iâll own it.
If there are any late week updates in regards to the team, Iâll post that in this thread.
Backline for this weekend as follows.
- T.Perenara
- B.Barrett
- C.Clarke
- A. Lienart-Brown
- R.Ioane
- S.Reece
- W.Jordan
