Fight scenes are great and it looks amazing. It's a shame about the dialogue and pacing.
Rumours are that there are new writers for series 3 https://knightedgemedia.com/2024/09/the-rings-of-power-season-3-writers-room/amp/

Pacing hasn't been great, but the world they have put together has been great and the battle scenes very good. New writers could take this a new level, lets see, something to look forward to in season three

Completely different to everything else being mentioned recently, but Nobody Wants This is a pretty good new Netflix comedy.
Wife and I finished this yesterday, was not intending to, but was kind of catchy and a fun watch. A great cast too

Missed this first time around (2002)
Excellent watch
Deja vu all over again as NY Yankees catcher Yogi Berra so eloquently put it
Eerily similar to what’s going on at the moment
Labour 24 trying to do a remake but with lesser actors and a more informed and discerning audience

@MiketheSnow 3h 40m!

It’s a 2-parter that would easily be a 4-6 parter now
There are obvious breaks where you can pause it

Yeah first episode was a good watch, definitely carrying on.
Does it look like it's going to go into the real sick (accusedly) shit?
One of my main problems now - is looking at previous, and current, wrestlers - and constantly wondering "where you one of them?"
Drew McIntyre - in particular... at one point had a whole storyline about being "Vince McMahon's favourite". Either... that was complete kayfabe, or... guy's a prick. And I keep watching his recent career wondering... is this all a matter of pushing him out the door? But it keeps stretching out, and you keep paying him a wage...? -
About 5 seasons into Seinfeld.
It provides plenty of amusing situations, but I think Jerry is a bit of a dick, as I previously mentioned, the stand up scenes, not funny.
Kramer is the best thing about the show, and even then, I think they know this and overplay this somewhat.
Unsure if I'll finish all the seasons, might have a break with Home Improvement.
Am 3 eps into latest season of Slow Horses, I still enjoy this show

Ms Antipodean and I binged this. Much better than I thought it would be. Some very funny lines and good characters.

If you want more in depth about that then the Behind the Bastards podcast has a good episode on it.
The less you know about the background stuff in wrestling I guess the better it would be. If I hadn't listened to the above podcast way more of this would have been new to me.
Some of the wrestlers comments come across quite bad in hindsight. Especially around CTE, which they all completely poo pooed despite the evidence relating to Benoit.
Also, McMahon's face looks weird as fuck, don't know if it's old man or plastic surgery, likely a mix of both I'd say.

The brother and his wife (and the storyline surrounding them by the end) might be my favourite part of the show.

I really liked his goofy character in Veep too.

There is nothing like pro wrestling in the world, nothing.
Possibly mentioned on here before but over Covid I went nuts watching YouTube interviews with loads of them ( the ones still alive that is which is approximately half of the stars of the 80s )
Vince is NOT a popular guy on the whole however some do argue he never made anyone take roids/painkillers/coke etc. everyone did it themselves.
I can’t wait to watch this show

They make that claim, but that's B/S, don't take them and Vince doesn't schedule you/contract you - well in the case of roids, I'm sure they all did coke of their free will.
As I'm used to the early 90s era and remember through the 90s seeing the not musclebound as much wrestlers of today is strange.

Sorry maybe I worded that wrong.
Unless they were natural giants like Andre, One Man Gang, King Kong Bundy, Big Show etc or just absolutely ruthless on the mic ( like Jake the Snake who whilst a big strong guy was pretty average compared to others ) then they had to take roids to get to the level he wanted. It was up to each individual to do it if he wanted to make it.
There were some cartoonish looking guys in the 80s, even guys like Rick Rude and Randy Savage didn’t seem that big until you saw them standing next to regular sized people. Absolute freak athletes.
