Isn't the defence read issue more of a problem on the wing? At fullback as the last line of defence for the Crusaders I haven't noticed his defensive read issue that much. He does fall off the odd tackle in defence as a fullback but so does Jordie.

It is more of a problem at wing, presumably because he hasn't played there as much (and I think Ioane's communication/organisation is lacking), but he still makes errors at fullback - tends to hang back and let overlaps happen rather than shoot up and take the extra man. he's got the acceleration to be really good at that, but doesn't get the decisions right.

Weeks later, I still can’t get it out of my head that the worst thing about all of this is that regardless of the coaching tactics, player performances and decision making is I still can’t understand how the ABs let someone turn up and insult their captain like that with no retribution.

Honestly, it’s the biggest disgrace of the lot.

That’s the first thing they need to address. Someone will probably say it again and as long as it isn’t in a RWC knockout game then I’d end the game right there and then, if you know what I mean. Have some f’n pride.

The Stuff player ratings were a joke too. How did Reece get the same score (5) as Ofa?

TBH, I don't really hold that against Turner, in those days he had to move to further his career. There was no Hurricanes to overlook him or Chiefs, MP and Highlanders to pick him up.

On Sevu Reece for example. I haven't seen the court docs but I gather it was a rather low level incident against his partner after which he attended an anger management course, turned his life around and has remained with the same partner ever since.

I don't have an issue with him being an All Black. Reeces story is not uncommon in my experience. People do dumb things, get the help they need and don't get in trouble again and end up in fulfilling relationships with the person they abused.

The last thing we want to do is cut that pathway off for people, whether they be All Black's, nurses, lawyers or whatever. There's nothing more guaranteed to cause conflict than evonomic deprivation and stopping people from earning a living.
