If anyone encounters Simon Doull at anytime, kindly do the rest of us NZ cricket fans a service and kick him in the nuts.

    Thank you

Does Raval have to have incriminating evidence about Gavin Larsen before someone will drop Guptil from the test team? Nicholls is also getting into the pushing-his-luck category...

The truth about Raval is that his record isn't stellar. It's good and he deserves to be in the squad but his record isn't so good that it can't be ignored. I think Raval has more than earned a spot ahead of Guptill. Most of the people I have read about Raval say that he is a good player but he hasn't shown signs of brilliance. His FC record gets better every year but a lot of players score runs in the Plunket Shield who don't deserve a call up.

You read anything on Popli and Nicholls?

85/4. Shit on a stick (feel better soon, Kane. No seriously.)

Ross, if ever there was a time you needed to stand up and shake off the shackles, this is it. Opening three rubbish. Ronchi unlucky, but again another handy innings. He's played well in India (and yes this hat tastes delicious.)

                Tits

For all the special innings Taylor has played he still does some fucked up shit. It was dark, near the end of the day, first ball in a new spell. If it's not going to bowl you just leave the fucking thing!

Didn't expect us to be back, but not a good thing.

We've been dynamited by Kumar - that is pretty dismal!

I wouldn't expect that batting line up to make 200 in either innings, actually I wouldn't expect a cumulative 200 against almost anyone, but especially in Asia. We're putting out a weak on here.

@Rapido If you add everyone's average together - it comes to about 320 (plus extras). Admittedly, there's a few like Ronchi and Henry who might have inflated averages relative to talent, but even if you severely knock 70 runs off - it still seems reasonable to expect 250+ on average.

But we're definitely fragile without little Kane.

India are a good team, especially at home. I don't think most of our batsmen would average above 30 in these conditions over an extended period.

Probably not - I was more reponding to Rapido's suggestion that he wouldn't expect 200 against almost anyone.

Indian top order having a passable collapse 43/4.

Boult had a shout against Kohli that would have had his heart in his mouth, but definitely pitching outside leg.

Pujara's lbw would have been worth an a review if he were allowed one.

I guess they're effectively 158/4 - get one more quick wicket and we're back in the game.

Props to Doull for pointing out that Kohli, although right up there in the shorter forms, is only ranked 20 in tests. And that this summer is a good chance for him to mark himself "against the best" with Kane here now and Root/Smith to come.

The Indian comms response when they showed the top 10: "well he doesn't feature in that top 10 but go and ask bowlers around the world what they think"

They'd all say exactly the same thing you dork - that he's not up there in tests but is a force in the shorter forms. He's not the only player in the world that dominates the short forms only.

Thata boy Boult, sends Kohli on his way for 1 more then his average and we are just hanging in there.

Don't worry about the LBW call. Would have been "umpires call".

                                          Haven't quite taken the wickets fast enough - they're 125/6 effectively 237/6.

Hard to think we can get 250 to win batting last, let alone any more. Someone would have to do something special! About the only trump card we have is that they've only got two seamers.
