Stiles gets the arse from The Reds in favour of Brad Thorn.

Only one year in the Head Coach role seems a bit harsh, but with that playing roster you don't have many places to hide.

Wessels goes from Perth to The Rebels after McGahan got the boot earlier in the year. That will be great for Melbourne as he appears to have the right stuff.

I'm going to call them "The Webbels" from here on in.

    @nta

Couldn't happen to a better fat caarnt.

Is Thorn a Super-level coach just yet? As much as I heart the man, he doesn't seem qualified to rebuild this utter train wreck of an organisation.

@rancid-schnitzel watching some of his work with Qld Country, I'm thinking he will be at least as good as Stiles. The work in contact from them this year is impressive.

i'm generally anti players becoming coaches without proving themselves, but thorn changed codes and learned a whole new game, in the forwards. that's a pretty different perspective to most players who grew up just knowing what you do.
kind of like how 2nd language english speakers have a much better grasp of grammar rules than native nz speakers, and can consequently teach them better.

If you pause it at -28 you can see the Crusaders talent scout with the checkbook out. 😉

Aboriginal kids from La Perouse often go to loig so they never stray too far from home.

He'll be locked up into a fairly solid Sevens contact shortly I believe.

That remains to be seen, just remember he had only about half a dozen appearances for Hawkes Bay without ever being the number one in his position (presumably behind Chris Eaton and maybe even Isaac Paewai now I come to think of it).

The list of halfbacks not selected during the 'Eaton' era is frustrating. He's looked better for the Force this year than Eaton ever has.

Both the Ruru brothers are far too good to play for a team like Hawkes Bay.

QUADE Cooper’s stint at Queensland Reds looks to have ended after he was reportedly told he is no longer part of the club’s plans.

The 29-year-old fly half was expected to report back for training at the Super Rugby outfit on Monday but has been informed by new coach Brad Thorn he probably won’t be involved in the forthcoming campaign.

“I’ve had an honest conversation with Quade and where he currently sits in our plans,” Thorn told the Courier-Mail.

“He’s not training with the Reds at the moment and training with his club (Brisbane City) instead.”

Capped 70 times, the skilful playmaker’s Test career also appears over after having been left out of coach Michael Cheika’s Wallabies squad since his last match against Italy five months ago.

Cooper was brought back by Queensland in 2015 from French club Toulon and still has two seasons left on his Reds contract.

                                  QLD rugby right now:

I'm surprised Cooper is not wanted by the Reds. At test level, I can fully understand they no longer call him up, but the Reds? If I were him, I'd seek a release of my Reds contract and earn some coin in Europe or Japan. No point in staying in Oz with his international career over.
