See the thing is we've now had 15 pages of you guys frothing about Aussie 'whingeing'. Admit it - you fucking LOVE IT.
While you may complain, and cry out 'look at these losers' and turn the outrage meter up to 11, it warms the cockles of your dark Kiwi souls.
Here is a little bit of reality, though. Other than the Kafer article, the response here in the media is largely... silence. It's the Tuesday after the game, and I think in your heads our papers are full of ranting and raving from pundits about Owens costing us the match. But it isn't.
The SMH today had two rugby articles. One about the NH tour, and one (shock!) from NZ about Cheika losing the plot, and how he needs to reign it in. The News press had one article about Cheika's tactics which was more positive, but did include the phrase "The Wallabies don’t have the same class and depth as the All Blacks so they need fire and brimstone, and importantly, confidence."
Fortunately (or unfortunately) there just isn't the outrage factor.
Put it this way, I don't think we will be posting an interview with Nigel Owens in 9 years time on these boards, with people still disecting the decisions he made in that game...

Yes it's a predominantly AFL radio station, but the morning guys know their sport beyond AFL and aren't like NRL folks that want to talk any other sport down to boost their one.

Yeah that whole "our game, toughest fucken athletes on the fucken planet maaaaaaaaaaaaaaatttttttteeeeeeee" shit that spouts from NRL media folk gets really tiresome.

Throwing a punch back? C'mon, that's weak. Throwing a punch back is winning on the field not having a cry about a newspaper article. Its not about kowtowing to the abs it's about acting like a grown up. Surely even you see the difference.
You've got 50 years on us with bodyline plus a mini-series. Nice try though.

Biggest issue with having a polarising figure like Cheika is when it comes to sponsors. If Cheika insists on being the sole mouthpiece for the Wallabies and continues until the next round of sponsorship negotiations (Qantas up in 2019) it would be very possible to see that Qantas money turn into Tiger Airlines money if the results on the field continue and he is putting up this kind of performance.
I personally don't think he makes it to 2019 for a raft of reasons - not least of which is I've never seen a coach go off like that and have any sort of tenure.

I'm sure there are some that think he's God, but I simply don't see how his behaviour is good for Australian rugby. It's bad enough that the team is losing and I don't see any benefit for the game from Cheika throwing his toys out of the cot.
One thing I'm not sure about is this "us vs them" attitude. I can't recall that ever being the modus operandi of the great Aus teams. I remember the difference when that 98 team took the field. They weren't all pumped up like the previous year, they had their heads down and were focussed. You could see it in their eyes. That will ultimately bring success, not trying to get the players to froth at the mouth before each game.

@barbarian the Moore thing is key I reckon, his communication, leadership and play has been lacking up until that match.
I think the Aussies, like the Argies showed that you attack the breakdown, slow or disrupt the ball to our backs and it affects our flow...yes our ability to counterattack is second to none, but we still play a pretty structured game when it comes down to it. But playing that way for 80 minutes is the challenge for other teams, because a couple of lapses and the game can go from a 5 point margin to 20 in a a very short space.
