And it's pretty dumb of JT to side with the players, who both seem to be genuinely repentant, over the stance that Kidwell and NZL have taken.
Agree @Crazy-Horse, seems crazy that the Kiwi's jersey means so little to him.

@paekakboyz It's not like Taumalolo would have done this lightly, remember he chose NZ over Origin and Australia under immense pressure.
I think it shows how little international league rates, but then again we see it everytime a Kiwis team is selected and all of a sudden Kiwi players turn up injured.
I just hope that they don't switch his allegiance on the NRL game on PS4! I'll be stuffed without him ....

I suspect crisis talks are underway with Taumalolo and NZRL. It hasn't been confirmed by the NZRL or Taumalolo yet, and if it was already a done deal the NZRL would have tried to get on the front foot.
I could see Taumalolo being selected for the squad tomorrow morning but not Kidwell.

Taumalolo confirms it with a piss-weak statement that we all know isn't true and the NZRL isn't talking today. Everyone is looking bad right now.

I read this article on Melbourne Storm which was pretty cool around the team putting away mobile devices at certain times (meal times etc)

Not starting a scrap, just asking if Tony Kemp is grinding an axe at the same time (while making some good points nonetheless)
Never thought much of Kemp as a coach, or as a high-performance guy either, but one thing is clear - theres some serious shit going on with the NZRL -
Once Doyle left the NZRL it began going back to its old ways. Kemp is right that the organisation is a total shambles at the top and reeks of the Gary Kemble days (irony being that Kidwell was one of the players who led the revolt against Kemble).
Tomorrow's squad announcement is going to be a disaster. The NZRL has done no PR to counter this at all so the media are going to already have their minds made up.

no iPhones in the Storm@westcoastie kinda my point, these guys a grown men, professional athletes who know what is expected of them...why would they suddenly decide it is ok to throw that all away within the Kiwis?
As for Kemp, yep, he has an axe, but he did make some good points, not least the fact that the NRL clubs dealt with these 2 and got on with it, whereas NZRL are continuing to punish them...

Dale Budge was going hard on RS this morning - must have caught up with Kemp for breakfast I reckon!!
He had some really good points imo. He saw multiple folks sharing the blame for this situation. An ongoing lack of leadership and nous by NZRL, Kidwell being out of his depth, farcical eligibility rules, and he also fired shots at JT for not being honest about why he's chosen Tonga over NZ.
Budge did say he'd have understood, and probably backed JT, if he was honest about why he's gone with Tonga. But to say at the eleventh hour that you want to 'give back' to a team that you weren't going to be playing for a week ago is pretty smelly.
Looking forward to the press conference today - might be a taaaaad awks I reckon!

Interesting how you get guys like Kemp who weren't flash coaches or anything, but clearly have a deep understanding of the game and what makes it tick. Then again he wasn't the first coach who couldn't make any decent change with warriors.
oh, one really good point he made was the appointment of Brian Smith, who hasn't coached in how long??
