Your reasons? I concede that it would be a yellow for consistency but remove everything else in the game and view it as an isolated incident and you'd think it was a harsh call if yellow (especially if a yellow jersey worn by the culprit)

Fair enough. Funny thing is the ref saw it and his response was to give both captains a "talking too" about the niggle. Crazy referring after the YCs he'd been dishing out.

Fatialofa's one was an aggressive charge with no arms in the direction of the head. It carried high danger and affected play.
Bird's one was an after the ball shoulder check that carried little danger and had no effect on play.
Should have at least been a penalty and a strong warning to cut out the niggle. For consistency though I wouldn't argue that a YC was unwarranted.

Sorry Crucial but that's nonsense. Bird's shoulder charge was late when the player was not bracing for impact and had the potential to break ribs. TJP was down for some time afterwards. 100% the wrong call from the ref.

Bird bumped TJP he didn't target him with the point of the shoulder. Yes, it was late and deserved penalty (or YC for consistency) but no way in any other game was that a no brainer YC like you are all making out.

Instead of whining how about sending a message to TJP to stop the amateur dramatics and start playing rugby. He's totally been put off his game by himself getting too wound up.

It was material. The Chiefs prop took out Barrett and Lowe got the turn over. If lowe didn't turn the ball over it would be immaterial and no penalty needed. Barrett could have cleaned out Lowe had he not been taken out.

Hope so too.
The niggle is an obvious tactic going into the game. They have had two hard physical local games and the Canes are soft and not ready for it.
