      @tim

      Thought so.

Despite my reservations about him (mainly temperament and in some games work rate), I want to see him get a real go. I’d probably start him this week. At least, I hope he gets some real minutes.

I thought you’d have been all over my earlier post - I was glad to see that the batsign went off over Mimic’s.

Never given away a card for foul play, even if he loves the niggle. Compare to how many Coles gave away, even when he was an established test player.

@mariner4life Squire was sick wasn't he, so not dropped?

I think Fifita is better coming off the bench, but it does create an issue if Read is out, does Luke get the nod as the only other out and out 8?

could go with Cane, Todd & Savea to take the piss haha

Is there a different team to the one that lost to Fiji and just beat Samoa?.

If Read is out I'd roll with Cane 8, Todd 7, Squire 6 and Akira on the bench.

@antipodean potentially - but Cane played 8 last test after Read went off - Squire hasn't played 8 for a while (I don't think?)

@tim although if Read is under an injury cloud, maybe they have kept him on? One would assume the ones coming back would be on a plane by now....

If Read is out, cant see them starting Akira, although I guess of the tests this 'should' be the easiest one...need to put 50 on them by 40 so our 2nd half slump doesn't cost us.

Ioane is Kaino's replacement but I doubt they'll use him in the 23. As @KiwiMurph says, more likely Cane moves to 8 in a re-arranged loose forward trio. No need to risk Read if he isn't 100% fit.

S Barrett could also be an option at 6 off the bench if involved.

Squire - 6, Todd and Cane at 6 with Akira on he bench. Bring Squire off on the hour mark, switch Cane to 6 and let Akira rip into the Jocks for the last 20.

Team named at 5pm UK time (6am for you in NZ).

That's also effectively late at night in Edinburgh as it will probably be dark at 3.

It would seem the only issues are the fitness of Romero and Read. As I've posted before, I prefer a power lock with Sam W, so if Luke out I'd like to see Pat T get a start. Barrett (S) on bench.

Read is more complicated. If he's out I'd like to see Sam Cane as captain. For me Fifita and Akira are a bit samey, so Squire to start. He plays the tightest of the three so I'd put at 6. That would mean Akira at 8.

That said, I expect wise men would prefer Fifita to be in 23, and Todd on bench. On that basis the logic would be Fifita at 6 and Squire at 8. Which would mean Cane would cover any injury to Squire.

But then again read might be passed fit!

Could still have Fifita on bench with Squire covering 8, or have Akira on bench with Cane shifting to 6 if Squire goes down.

Hello folks, long time no see. I thought I'd say hello during the buildup to the biannual "oh ferfuksakesScotland" event (to be honest it's a lot more frequent than that).

We are struggling in the front row, and that worries me as I think Hames has been very good from what I've seen. Nel broke his arm last week and the next guy off the rank is Zander Fagerson, a young laddie who is very promising but the tight isn't his forte, he is very good around the park and will win a couple of turnovers but despite being a sizable young man he hasn't yet matured into the beast of a scrummager that we need.

However, hopes springs eternal and all that.

Cheers @Talisker, good to see you are still alive and kicking!

If you see any ABs fans in town over the weekend be sure to buy them a drink 😉 (especially the ones that answer to Crucial or Pakman)
