That's more like it. Letting the ball do the work and Tipuric is in at the corner
Wales 38 - 7 Italy

Good perseverance from Italy to go over in the corner
Wales 38 - 14 Italy

Wales try to finish with a flourish but a knock on denies North his hattrick.
Wales 38 - 14 Italy
Full timeHadleigh Parkes deserved MOTM

Good win for Wales. Stuck to the task even when down one or two men.
Patchell to start next week please.
Great to see North with a smile on his face.

Reaction in the papers seems to vary between realism and believing Eddie that it is just a little 'tough period'.
What got lost in the euphoria last year was that they could just as easily have been in a poor position in the 6N then as well with a couple of close escapes.
What looks to have happened is that the flaws were advertised last year and purchased by the opposition this year. Meanwhile England have done nothing to change either their style or mindset.
They went into that game yesterday knowing that they needed 4 tries yet (arrogantly?) decided that they would grind the French into playing like chooks instead of Roosters and reap the rewards late in the game. A risky plan that didn't come off at all.
I can't believe the debate in some quarters about the PT, with it being referred to as either a harsh call or 'unfair' (good old Kaplan again). You could show a clip of that PT in training videos as a correct call. In most games that would have been a YC if the tackle was in general play. When done against a player a metre from an open line the call is pretty simple.
@crucial BBC is starting to hint at concern
"Jones has often got quick improvements from teams he has taken over. He hasn't always been able to sustain it. There is a reason why he has never lasted more than four years in one job."

The expected Stephen Jones roast in the Times was funny. He (of course) blamed NZ and Oz rugby for convincing everyone that the game should be played fast and with ball movement. His solution is for England to stop trying to play and just put their heads down and bash.

I actually find it a disgusting article and headline. He's an international, a good player in a team that may be the weakest in the 6 Nations and no. 14 in the world rankings, but reaching 133 test caps is a huge achievement nevertheless. He deserves respect, not rubbish like this.

There's a growing controversy surrounding an incident involving Cian Healy

He didn’t undergo a HIA and returned to play in the second-half. Ireland went on to win the game, before being crowned Six Nations Champions a few hours later following England’s loss to France in the Stade de France.

Come on Scotland! Get him to the milestone in style !
Italy are lucky that Scotland have been pretty dire particularly in the mid 2000s when it was always an entertaining scrap for bottom place. In saying that they've still picked up 13 wooden spoons in 18 years.
They've brought precisely 3 5ths of 5 8ths of fuck all to the tournament as a whole.

Money . They bought money to tournament. That it though, they’ve bought fuck all else.
The Ferald having a cheap shot? There’s a surprise.

I wondered if that Cian Healy head knock would come up post match. It was poor form all around. I can understand the ref not noticing but the AR was there and the trainers should be embarrassed.

Healy was in la-la landSurely they have a match doctor too whose job would also include looking for any possible HIAs? Sam Whitelock was assessed on Sat night based on the doctor's decision not any official.

@bovidae I once saw an introduction clip about the HIA's and the doctor had a laptop there and said the first check is an eye-test, he watches a replay from the incident and if he doesn't like the look of it, the player fails and also said he watches the game if he sees something worth checking he can inform the refereeing team to get a player for the test.

Aren't Ireland claiming it was not a head injury but a stinger? The video some what disputes this.

I have never seen worse game management by an international team then I saw in that France England game.
With 3 minutes to go and a lead of 3 points France win a penalty deep in the English half.
Why would you ever decide to kick that? England were never playing for the draw. So even if you kick it they still need a try to win. Insurance against the conversion thats pretty shit insurance at this level. They needed to bang that into the corner and burn up the 3 minutes going for the try.
Then once time is up. Beauxis putting a beautiful spiral on the ball and not finding touch is unthinkable he was only 10 meters from the side line he could have put it on the second deck from there.
France deserved to lose for being so dumb. They would have learnt a lot more if they had lost.
