Also I fucken hate BOD as mentioned above but he's retired now ( without a win against the ABs )

I think you're in good company there.

Hate to say it but one of my fondest rugby memories is that of BOD's face at the end of the 2013 AB-Ireland test in November 2013.

Imagine having to car pool with these two

It doesn't look good, and he might cop a ban.

I still think the lifter makes the end result far worse, as he acts as a fulcrum for POM. If that's a regulation contest without a lifter, I don't think it ends with POM on his head.

As it was, Stander stabilises POM which exacerbates the impact of the minor contact he receives, and then instead of merely being pushed back he flips over completely.

It can't be treated the same way as a regular 1v1 contest for the ball. You can certainly penalise Folau for the contact, but I'm not sure you can ban him for how it ended up.

No it doesn’t. Would look worst if the stills had arrows and accompanied by some creepy monotone voice calling him a cheat 😎

Jesus, to me Folau's contact with the left hand is incidental - he's already tipping over due to the initial contact and the single-lift. Incredibly harsh yellow.

Did the citing commisioner release anything re: the Henshaw head high?
I did a google search but all i can see are media stories on Folau.
Did it not reach a red card threshold? Just curious, so than I can keep my outragometer tuned at the correct level.

@Stargazer This is the sort of thing you seem to know where to find?

Watching Fox Sports' Kick & Chase.

Complete whinge fest about how Folau has been hard done by.

                    IMO one match is lenient.

Well that made things completely clear then didn't it.

Run into an opponents legs by not jumping - red card on the ground, rescinded off the ground because the player was brushed 10 yards out.
Jump for the ball and hit another player who was lifted by his fellow team mate creating an obvious fulcrum point - yellow on the ground, upgraded to red after and banned.

Clear as mud. Trouble being the Fall no-decision. Maybe Izzy's legal should have just quoted that.

It was a separate incident that the citing was for. And it wasn’t for “hitting” the other player, it was for grabbing the other player and unbalancing him.

But, mitigation? Look at that terrible lift, imagine ALB doing that to Beauden.

I am being semi-serious. The reason jumpers flip and land in their heads is because their legs get taken out from under them.

I don't know how anyone can seriously argue that Folau didn't take the irish jumper in the air in that situation. Look at his arm wrapped around the guys chest. It is nowhere near the ball which he is trying to catch with his other hand.
As far as the lift goes. If you remove the contact from Folau he comes down fine. Its like blaming BB for jumping too high against france.

You nearly had it right. The yellow card incident was not up for consideration.

It was a separate incident that the citing was for. And it wasn’t for “hitting” the other player, it was for grabbing the other player and unbalancing him.

@derm-mccrum wow your right - I just assumed it was same incident. Apologies.

So instead he got cited for an aerial challenge neither the ref or TMO had an issue with?

An aerial challenge??? I can get a punch or neck roll or something, but an aerial challenge?

                                        This is horse shit.

Eh no sorry, but he didn’t get cited for an aerial challenge either. Maybe have a look at the incident, (2nd of the three), read what the citing was for, and the result of citing panel review.
