@mofitzy_ he's a decent player with some good size. Given our shortage of locks it's a bit of a loss.

Physically he certainly has a great profile. I'm completely ignorant of him as a player, what kind of a loss is this?
@mofitzy_ while he hasnt nailed a starting spot for us, he has started several games.
I'd have liked him to stay on as I think he has real potential, particularly if he adds a bit of size to his frame as he does look a bit lean, that I expect he will in a fully professional environment, which I expect will help with his physicality.
He was in the Blues WTG or Dev team this season and acquitted himself well,IIRC think there was an opportunity for him to get some real Blues action too following an injury but they went somewhere else?

You can only assume that Caird knew he wasn't going to be offered a Blues contract, or picked up by another SR team. So better to take a contract on the table than hope for an opportunity to come your way. Only 23 though.

@nzzp I think he would have been legendary had he called it quits in 2017. But his last three years makes me wonder if he was made to look better than he actually was with the various GOATs in the team as well as having Wayne Smith in the coaching setup.

Nah that was the plan which we all thought was sensible. Bed in post 2015 goat etc exodus, do the lions, then leave. Perfect sense, only 2016 was undefeated year and so they signed him for two extra years, sadly when we got to 2017 it was obviously a year too far
