Pot and kettle? How many times do NH teams send understrength teams down here, particularly for the 1st game, that I know is a scheduling issue, but looking at our schedule, this is the right way to do it.

They did exactly the same thing last year. Scheduled a two test tour to Argentina while the Lions were in NZ FFS. 17 debutantes including Pommy Piers.

It's cause we're black and they are white. Racists.

see the always generous TAB has suspended bets on H2H for the ABs, with Japan at $18

@rotated Henderson was class. He kept Duane Monkley out of the ABs. 😉

TBF, Zinny could have been given the captaincy then and should have been given in 1997 when Marshall was given it.

            Ginge was an excellent AB.

I'm not bothering to look it up I doubt zinny played v Japan in 95? He was carrying an injury that tournament. Or was that his first game back after missing the 2 openers.

He played that match, him and Robin, as they were both getting playing as much as possible after overcoming their injuries.

Still annoyed with Mains and God that MJ wasn't there. Arseholes.

With the amount games on a Sundee what would have been the point of bringing him ?

I'm basing this on lots of hungover moments reading articles at Georgie Pie on predicted 95 WC squads.

The only trait the Whitelocks share is looking a shitload older than their actual age.

That's the United Nations of a rugby squad. No Super Rugby players, unless they play Japanese league and SR?

This is a pretty weak Japanese team. Their stars are missing : the hooker, the scrum-half and the fullback. Mafi was their main weapon and he isn't there anymore. All Blacks by 30+.

Pot and kettle? How many times do NH teams send understrength teams down here, particularly for the 1st game, that I know is a scheduling issue, but looking at our schedule, this is the right way to do it.

If we had Aus. Japan, England, Ireland in a RWC, the Japanese test would see a much more inexperienced side trotted out, admittedly with a smaller squad size.

I'll admit to not knowing F.A about the Japanese side and it's strength (as in is it full strength) but ultimately, even this AB side should be able to account for any side the Japanese can send out, if they cant, then that will be rather embarrassing, but I think it will be ABs >20

Not sure what the issue is here. So it’s some journo at the Guardian being quoted, not any of the unions.

The NZ media has done similar when weakened England, Welsh, French etc squads were sent south.

Thankfully the media don’t speak for the teams where they reside

Bullshit that Steve Hansen has devalued the All Blacks jersey. By winning a World Cup away from home, pushing his players to higher standards and taking the All Blacks brand to new markets, he has made the Black Jersey more fearsome than ever.

This is what this New Zealand game is all about, and we're lucky to have a fixture where young, keen as, fellas like this guy help keep a long held kiwi dream alive. Every fluffybunny on this site must've had that dream

Look at the determined delight this lad has and that he's getting a taste at keeping Laura to a standard she's become accustomed to, is only a good thing.

                                          Go on LAD!

Have a barnstorming debut! I'll be watching out for you and the other young'uns
