Yeah I’m watching the announcement and paused it to type that. Thought a few on here would be interested 🙂

      Hansen re Akira:

It’s the same problem he’s always had, came into the season not fit enough. He played every game for the blues and at the same time was trying to get fit so he’s a tired athlete. We didn’t see the best of him during super rugby.

We know what’s under the surface, we just need him to take ownership. You can lead a horse to water but can’t make it drink.

Good that Hansen made it clear. Akira ought to have a word with Steve Luatua.

Fark that's disappointing. Such a talent going to waste.

@pakman Akira needs to leave the Blues if he wants to be an All Black. Come and get some work ethic off Ardie Savea. 😁

@Canes4life In all seriousness I reckon that is on the cards.

I think I remember he only committed to the Blues for 1 season (his actual NZRU deal was longer).

I wouldn't be surprised if he went to Canes and the NZ Rugby fan in me would welcome it.

As a Blues supporter I suspect any of the other NZ Super teams would do.

Yeah reports about Ardie are that his work ethic is next level, polar opposite to his brother. Whether it's the Canes or somewhere else Akira needs to shake things up, for whatever reason he's not focused enough in Auckland.

Akira has played well at 6 before (v British Lions for Blues and Maori).

However the biggest surprise is Squire's omission. He was in devastating form against the Tahs and I thought before today that he was an automatic choice.
Aumua's selection is the second big surprise IMO. I did not see it coming.
I am happy for Josh Ioane, Luke Jacobson, B. Ennor and Sevu Reece who have been very good this year. I rate Jacobson higher than Frizell or Fifita. I just hope his concussion problems are now behind.

@cgrant With Aumua the All Blacks probably see an opportunity to unleash a beast, whereas Harris has probably reached his ceiling in terms of potential.
