I'm looking forward to this game to see Papalii play and the 9-10 combo of TTT-Mounga which on paper looks very useful.

With the issues we are having at six, might be worth playing Dalton there. He's a big unit, good ball runner, and has a huge workrate.

I'm pretty sure I read that Hansen considers him a 6 that can cover 7

@machpants Fox said he plays both, and was selected as 7 cover.

          @machpants @tim

Hansen said he wasn't a natural 7 and he was primarily a 6 who could cover 7. Fox made some comment about him being better suited to 6 too

Hopefully he gets the start at 6 this weekend. It would be a shame to take him on tour and not see him both positions

@tim love the hyperbole 'one of the starting survivors' like they are all being dropped due to the loss.

I'm expecting to see a forward pack of:

                Tuungafasi
                Coles
                Laulala
                Tuipulotu
                Retallick
                Fifita
                Papalii
                Read

                Reserves: Harris, Tu'inukuafe, Ta'avao, S Barrett, Savea

                Hopefully an ALB-Goodhue midfield.

I'd like to see Mo'unga get a start. Don't think he a magic solution, but he needs some serious game-time with DMac and/or BB coming on as subs.

Good call. And sack the Brakes and Coaches as well

It's a Herald article. You almost sound surprised.

I'm really warming to the idea of BB at fullback, with BFA on the right wing. Not so much because I think Mo'unga has all the answers at 10 right now, but he's easily good enough and will continue to improve. That coupled with the fact that BB's skillset really suits fullback - very good under the high ball, decent kicking game, and pace to burn in space - makes me think we have far better balance to our backline with him there.

What I would select right now:
                      TJP
                      Mo'unga
                      Rieko
                      Crotty
                      Goodhue
                      BFA
                      Beauden

                      A Smith
                      ALB
                      DMac

On the halfbacks - I think TJP is more suited to the early exchanges, with A Smith coming on in the 2nd half to up the ante.

Haha, yes, that was a shocker. I do recall Dagg putting in some pretty meek efforts at tackling on more than one occasion, yet was still regarded highly. Beauden's cover defense is usually pretty good, he's saved our bacon on a number of other occasions due to his speed.

On the halfbacks - I think TJP is more suited to the early exchanges, with A Smith coming on in the 2nd half to up the ante.

@no-quarter only thing there is that you're losing Mounga being able to take advantage of Smith's distribution.

@no-quarter and as evidence for the prosecution, see his pathetic attempt to defend the English openside last weekend. Completely lost.

Haha, yes, that was a shocker. I do recall Dagg putting in some pretty meek efforts at tackling on more than one occasion, yet was still regarded highly. Beauden's cover defense is usually pretty good, he's saved our bacon on a number of other occasions due to his speed.

Dagg had some weaknesses but I can’t recall him being bamboozled like that. Dagg’s issue was more technique than anything else.

@act-crusader didn't someone go around him like he wasn't even there once? I'm thinking someone not known for their pace.

He was done like a dinner on numerous occasions. Once someone went through, that was it.
