Chris Wood with a goal at Old Trafford as Burnley wins there for the first time since 1962. 🤣

Two shots on target from a quarter of the possession leads to a two nil win. Great stuff.

        Liverpool still winning for fun.

Are you Liverpool fans finally resigned to winning the Premiership yet? Or are you still being a bit weak in the head over it all?

Yeah Firmino scored just after I posted. This Liverpool team is incredible in its ability to win games despite being outplayed.

Nah we're golden. Even if City win out we have an enormous buffer

I expect us to drop games as other things become prioritised

Not so sure about that. Liverpool only has Man City and Chelsea left to play among teams in the current Top 8. They have a pretty soft run home from here.

So in this season of amazing feats, apparently Liverpool have become the thirteenth team to beat every other team in a single league season and achieved that earlier than any other team. The previous earliest by date record was held by Preston North End, back on Feb 9, 1889. LFC was founded in 1892.

We're now 19 points clear with a game in hand.

@antipodean no game in hand now, this morning was our catch up, everyone has played 24

If City completely reverse their form and win out, Liverpool need to win 8 of 14 to secure the title.

I do find the language used on the wendyball thread interesting. Lots of 'we', 'our', 'us' in reference to a team.

Not used at all in the rugby threads apart from the occasional use of 'we' when talking about the ABs.

                        Big cultural difference.

I use we a lot when referring to the black caps and crusaders too. Pretty much any team I'm supporting.

Same. Except for when the team is really bad, then it is always "they"

Nowhere near to the levels used when talking wendyball. Go through the Chiefs/Blues thread with plenty of talk from supporters of both sides and there isn't much of it. This thread has nearly every participant referring to a team as 'we'.

It's not a big deal, I just find the cultural difference interesting. I used to work at a place full of soccer 'followers' who would spend their Mondays talking about how 'we beat you' which used to seem quite ridiculous on the surface of it. A bunch of kiwis about as far away from the clubs they follow in both geographical and cultural facets talking about 'we' and 'us' and 'you'

I get that it's a culture thing I just commented on how I find it interesting.

I do find the language used on the wendyball thread interesting. Lots of 'we', 'our', 'us' in reference to a team.

Not used at all in the rugby threads apart from the occasional use of 'we' when talking about the ABs.

I know what you mean. I find people who have never been near Liverpool, let alone Anfield, saying "we" for their team extremely odd.

I never made it to Anfield despite 4 years in the UK and 37 years of supporting Liverpool. Closest I got was watching them away at Highbury.

WE lost 2-1 that day and I came very close to getting my head kicked in. Luckily Henry scored the winner and the arse fans forgot all about me.

@MajorRage I don't see the problem with it at all tbh. People can support who they like imo. I've supported Aston Villa since I was a boy, never been to Villa park (I'll get there eventually), but have spent thousands on merchandise and woken up at all hours over the last 20 years to watch them play (including the years 'we' were in the championship) so yeah, I refer to Aston Villa as 'we' and have no problem with it, similar to fans supporting the ABs/Blues or any other Super Rugby side from other parts of the world. If anything, I see it as a good thing that there are fans following the product far and wide. Just my 2 cents anyway.
