LAL deliver Portland a comprehensive beatdown. They jumped out fast and never let the Blazers into it. To make matters worse, Dame left the game with a knee problem. He is being worn down by the play in process and now having to face LA. LA should close this out in 5 now

Probably one for the BLM thread, but apparently several NBA teams are talking about sitting out the playoffs due to the latest police shootings. Fred Van Fleet was advocating for it.

Lots of twitter noise going LBJs way about Police being shot at earlier in the day in the same city...

Considering the overwhelming majority of the players in the league are black, they take the issue very seriously. And it happened in Wisconsin so the Bucks' home state. I guess by defaulting the game goes to the Magic? Lakers are due up later, will be interesting to see if they follow suit

The league has now cancelled all 3 games scheduled for today

No team takes a loss, I guess they aim for a reschedule but who knows?

NEW YORK– The NBA and the National Basketball Players Association today announced that in light of the Milwaukee Bucks’ decision to not take the floor today for Game 5 against the Orlando Magic, today’s three games – Bucks vs. Magic, Houston Rockets vs. Oklahoma City Thunder and Los Angeles Lakers vs. Portland Trail Blazers - have been postponed. Game 5 of each series will be rescheduled.

The Jet walked off TNT as well. He was visibly cut up and I think angry.

I know he could have just decided to not come in at all but it was poignant and powerful to do it on air, IMO.

Others can trivialise BLM but these players clearly feel there is still a big problem in the US. Inside all of the confusion and the bandwagon jumpers there is a real message in there

Yes. As with many causes people jump on whose motives and goals may not be as pure as the original message

He was pretty candid in his post game interview yesterday and said as much. Said he was in a dark place.

Kenny Smith seems like a thoughtful guy. Hardly a hysterical person. And now many more US sports games across the NBA, WNBA, MLS and MLB have been postponed as the boycott widens
