Announcement of the 31-man final squad scheduled for Monday 26 August.

But the final training squad of 36 has been announced - so 5 guys are going to be disappointed:

    Forwards (21)

    Backs (15)

Lukhanyo Am (Sharks), Damian de Allende (Stormers), Faf de Klerk (Sale Sharks, England), André Esterhuizen (Sharks), Warrick Gelant (Bulls), Elton Jantjies (Lions), Herschel Jantjies (Stormers), Cheslin Kolbe (Toulouse, France), Jesse Kriel (Bulls), Makazole Mapimpi (Sharks), Sbu Nkosi (Sharks), Willie le Roux (Toyota Verblitz, Japan), Handré Pollard (Bulls), Cobus Reinach (Northampton Saints, England), Frans Steyn (Montpellier, France)

Some very good players there. An advantage the Boks have is lots of guys with experience of Super Rugby and European Champions Cup. They should be able to adapt to all the different referees.

        @sparky

Tight-head prop and number 7 (the SA blind-side version) worries me in terms of depth.

Thomas du Toit didn't look great on Saturday at no.3 and I am not convinced Rynhardt Elstadt is of sufficiently high standard to be the back up 7 to Pieter-Steph.

        Backs look decent.
Gutted for Dyanti that injury has ruled him out, but the other wingers have shown good form.
Reckon Gelant is going to be borderline, as is Estherhuizen. Neither bashing the selection door down at the moment.

Squad announcement today at 3pm SA time.
(I'm guessing that's roughly 1am tomorrow for you kiwis).

No bolters expected. There are 32 guys at the training camp. One will miss out. Probably Elstadt.

Not sure. They may well have.
But apparently a Pact only works if it is secret - so hopefully we only find out after Kolisi has lifted the Webb-Ellis trophy

Injured - couldn't make a comeback in time.
                        Ditto for Dyantyi.

I was really looking forward to seeing some more of Dyanti - unless he's a drug cheat, but that's not proven yet.

Is the slow moving dump truck Serfontein injured or have the Bok selectors seen the light?

But he hasn't been in the mix at all this season.

                                  AB's must still be favourites.
Ireland, England and Wales also ahead of the Boks.
                                  Aussie up there too.

But yes, happy with that squad. Apart from Dyanti being missing through injury, those are the best guys we have so I can't complain about the squad selection.

Ireland, England and Wales also ahead of the Boks.
                                    Aussie up there too.

But yes, happy with that squad. Apart from Dyanti being missing through injury, those are the best guys we have so I can't complain about the squad selection.

ABs can't be favourites, we're not ranked number 1

You’ve named your squad and a strong one at that. We are still sitting on our hands trying to figure out who our starting 6, props and wingers are....

Is that what you call it in South Africa?
