Has Parkinson re-signed with the Highlanders yet?

    @Stargazer said in Hawke's Bay v Ta$man:
No team has scored that many points against Super Rugby team Ta$man as we have.

Though in reality, the only Ta$man players that were first choice starters for their Super rugby team are Lomax, Nankivell and Havili.

They are still full time professionals though.

@Nepia Yes, I'd really like to see 6. Mikaele-Tu'u, 7 Evans, 8 Flanders, although O'Connor had a good game today.

I wonder whether they'll move Ili to 12 and keep Fomai at 13, if Toala is out. If McNicol is back, where will they play him? 12? 13? They seem to see him as a midfielder, but I'm not sure which position he prefers there, esp if Toala isn't available.

@Stargazer to be honest I am not totally sold on the 2 brothers, let’s see what they can do at super level, we should not forget they are on the flanks of a very, very good team..

@Steven-Harris Leicester has shown promise; I'm not sold on Tima either.

@Higgins not too sure where Snolly was coming from , personally I think Ta$man would beat the steamers by a similar score..
This Ta$man team is a very good team stacked with super rugby talent and well coached ..they paid the magpies the ultimate compliment by playing a full strength team.

I'd assume McNicol would move into the midfield, but not sure they'll play him after being out so long. I don't mind Ili but he's not any better than the local boys so I'm always happy when they play the local boys.

Yeah, O'Connor had one of his better games.

That was the 3rd most points Ta$man have scored in a game this season, only Manawatu and Northland conceded more.

They'll take some beating and need to make home-field advantage count. Unlike last year.

@Stargazer I don't mean to "talk you down" but I beg to differ. I thought you were shown up at scrums, lineouts, on defense and appeared to lack imagination on attack. The final few points came when the game was effectively over and Ta$man had replaced many of their topline players which blew out the score.

Don't get me wrong, you guys have a competitive team but it must be a concern to concede so many points against us and Ta$man and on that performance, the TAB odds of a BOP Championship win will be lengthening. Bop definitely has the momentum and probably has the easier run to the final. But as the Southland game showed, we are beatable. Personally I would love to see a HB-Bop final.

@Steven-Harris I agree, they would probably beat the Steamers. They are a good team, as I said, but HB were shown up.

Didn't you guys have a dysfunctional lineout when we played you? (TBF, I"ve tried my best to block that game from my brain).

@Snollygoster I hear what your saying, but your talking about a Ta$man team that has 2 All Black front rowers , and All Black fullback , probably another 3 all blacks in waiting ,and probably laden with 95% super rugby talent ..against a team that has kids barely out of school in some positions still learning their trade..just remember they beat an Auckland team 40-0..and they playing roster with just as many super rugby players..this Hawkes Bay team while they have a few experienced heads in May, Dixon, O’Connor and Aladice who did not play today ..are a very young team in the scheme of things..are you taking that into account ...?

Give it up @Snollygoster , Hawkes fans will hear of no weakness in their team. They are are destined to win and any losses this season are freakish incidents. Do not mistake this confidence as arrogance. Do not mistake the educating all opposition fans as trolling.

As I said, I tried my best to block it out, must have been the Counties.

Also, I see as per usual you're only coming on rugby threads to troll, a simple read of this thread would show Magpies fans discussing the team's weaknesses

@Nepia a certain poster had written Hawkes Bay off before the season started saying they would get beaten by Wellington, Waikato, Taranaki and Ta$man, so I guess he had to get one right now he’s offering up all the Magpies shortcomings ..if that’s not trolling I don’t know what is..

Rubbish every single time a Hawkes game is discussed no criticism is allowed or valid from non Hawkes fans, I am amazed the entire Hawkes squad isn't at the WC.
