@mikey07 that doesn’t surprise me one bit. The decision makers at Wellington Rugby have always, and will continue to be a bunch of tugboats.

That’s disgusting behaviour if it’s Whitman but I will refrain from judging him until he’s proven guilty and all that.

MSP need to sort their shit out.

@canes4life K Whitman was named in the First half lineup for Wellington in their match up at Cooks Gardens against Taranaki this afternoon so it probably wouldn't be him as it would be very hypocritical of the Wellington RFU to permit anyone suspected of planting their boot into the head of another player to represent them. However being away from the rumour mill I have not heard any whispers (unlike those about a former WRFU Lions rep still turning up for Tawa each week) of who said player was. At least the WRFU appears to have washed their hands of that particular thug.

On another tack, apparently the incident at Wellington College (OBU/MSP) appears to have been deemed to have never occurred given the lack of punitive action taken against those that apparently were "not involved" in an incident that looks like it has been deemed to be a "racing incident". For something that caused an extensive/expensive WRFU investigation (and there were massive legal costs from what I have heard - QCs involved no less!) one wonders whether it was a beat up (not the best description in hindsight!) designed to give realistic training to prospective Judicial Sub Committee members given nothing happened to warrant the hearing.................

In another direction one of the participants in the MSP v Petone 7s fracas has been arrested and charged.

Bit late back to this thread.

Confusing as fuck. Just had to talk a lot and really know your team mates.

        Just thinking about this.

I think we wore white shorts, as opposed to their blue.

"White" of course was subjective on a Waikato club field in the middle of winter after 5 minutes or so.

@higgins Actually I made a mistake it’s wasn’t W...... instead midfield back Ofa Siale was the only player not playing on the 8th May, your comment actually made me go back and check.

IMO this is the reason why we - on this public forum - should refrain from posting names until it's proven that a player has actually done it, that is, there is a finding of a judge/court/disciplinary panel/union finding a player guilty of the offence(s) in question. Stick to private messages if you wish to discuss a specific player, please.

I also disagree with this conclusion:

@mikey07 said in NZ Club rugby (general):

@Higgins another MSP player getting away with it

          because of this:

“The decision was not exoneration of the player against whom the complaint was lodged but rather acknowledgement the matter has simply not been heard as the ‘best evidence’ had not been presented.”

In other words, the evidence was insufficient.
Until they have sufficient evidence, Wellington Rugby can't do a thing. That's not "sweeping it under the carpet".

Geez, I can't believe I'm defending Wellington Rugby. I'm going to take a shower ...

He would have had to lose a decent amount of weight.

Former All Black and All Blacks Sevens representative Scott Waldrom got back into regular rugby this year playing in the NZ Barbarians Under-85kg Club Cup competition and will be looking to advance to the national quarterfinals next game.
He is playing for his Avalon club who need to beat the winner of the Wellington Football Club-Marist St Pats Reds game to qualify to play an Auckland side in the quarters.

Still getting through watching some grassroots episodes, now olympics finished.

East Coast final was pretty epic in the wild weather with a not quite Don Clarke 1961 goal kick to win it on the final whistle.

                        Uawa v TVC.

@stargazer i guess, kees and joseph use to play for southern so there is connection there, think John played for uni

as a few people have pointed out in the comments...some international teams would be happy with that line up

edit: just saw this is for the next two years so Joseph must see himself spending at least a decent amount of time in dunners

He was helping out with Southern this year as well. It was also mentioned he was helping with John McGlashan College too. Seems he lives most of the year in Dunedin and just wants to keep up with hands on coaching. I'd say there must be a clause in his Japanese contract that says he can't have another professional role while contracted to them?

Interesting to note from the offenders Club that they have found deficiencies in the way the Club, it's players, members and supporters have conducted themselves .

Still awaiting outcome details (well ones that we can publish on here) of the incident at Wellington College between MSP and OBU and the one outside the Poneke clubrooms.

Things are moving on a bit justice wise on the thuggery incidents in Wellington club rugby (or at least one of them anyway).

A club like that should be put on notice. Any more incidents and you're kicked out of competitions.

This'll mean a lot of players shortages, esp up here in Northland
