Shinjuku to Tokyo this morning to get the Shikansen.

Left the hotel 8am. 4 adults with suitcases in rush hour.

    Hectic but fun.

Shinkansen is - and I cannot overstate this - fucking awesome

    @gt12 Osaka 4 nights. Kyoto 3.
Back to Tokyo on the 2nd, flying out 3rd.

I could do another 2 weeks just in Tokyo!

Planning to take a day trip to Hiroshima?
In Kyoto, try to get to the 'Insta' spots before the tour buses, so if the weather is good and it's not too cold, hit Arashiyama / Fushimi Inari-taisha early in the morning when there should be fewer people.
I can ask friends for restaurant recommendations, a friend of mine really likes this Gin, so their bar could be worth a try:

Gale warning in Osaka this arvo. Storm has rolled in and I'm on the 23rd floor of our hotel watching the rain and a little lightning

And no, not doing Hiroshima but I reckon Mrs TA and I will be back in the not-too-distant future to see more, and that is on the list.

Nice. I know the city very well and can recommend some lesser known places to eat.

If you are back in Tokyo, I can recommend some places as well. I don't know Kyoto or Osaka that well, sadly.

The downside of anywhere I travel these days: constipation 🤣

The upset to the normal routine is the main issue - at home I get up and have a coffee and then water and an hour later I'm good to go.

Flights, trains, and hotel rooms with air conditioning = dehydrated air.

A little bit of alcohol doesn't help 😉 and altered eating patterns continue the last bit.

Fuck me I'm putting some miles in tho: over 15,000 steps per day on average.

I hear ya bro, when I travel my body decides that pooping is only a sometimes activity. Add to that my carb intake goes up on holiday out of necessity which just makes it worse.

And I hate aircon in all it's facets. When I'm in hot places I'll put the aircon on in the room while I'm out all day, then hope the room stays cool enough for me to sleep most of the night.

The only thing that doesn't really alter for me when travelling is the walking and as I do lots being an inner city dweller.

@NTA you get back home and wonder why we’re over here wiping our arses with paper like time stopped moving in Western bogshops when Queen Victoria did.
