Mum had chosen "You'll Never Walk Alone" for her funeral. Which, with all due respect to Gerry, surprised me as Gerry & The Pacemakers was not her style at all. So I googled and discovered it was originally from a 1945 Rodgers & Hammerstein musical (which made waaay more sense) called Carousel (which I had barely heard of). G&TP obviously nailed it with their release which Liverpool has adopted so well. We used G&TP at the funeral because we couldn't track down a decent recording from the show (without spoken lines being inserted therein). RIP Gerry. Great song, great show.
