If you're the number one halfback at a franchise, why wouldn't you want to stay and fight for your spot? It's only Pulu that they've signed and - if you're correct about Hall's place in the NZ pecking order, he'd have to be roughly 6th to Pulu's roughly 5th.

I don't think he played one minute for the Blues in 2015.
But yes Guyton was contracted for another year (2017) and they have young Nock signed up for a while. Based on this Blues would have known this when they signed Pulu that Hall would go.

Fuck Bryn Hall and Leon Fukofuka as the 2 halfbacks to choose from would hardly inspire me with confidence (both Blues outcasts as well). Maybe Jono Hickey could join as cover for Drummond as well.

Francis has developed quite well IMO. It will be good to have him and West backing Jordie Barrett up in that 10 spot next season.

Where's he gonna play in the Blues backline? SBW and Moala will be fighting it out at 12. So does Tana ruin all the time invested into Ihaia West and pick Piers at 10?
@Wurzel Unlikely, he'll probably be bench cover, but will start the season at 12 with SBWs injury.
