They'll go for a three day test. They won't want to bat on this pitch again if they have to, and an Innings win would be the perfect riposte to being on the receiving end of a perfect ten.

Would have helped tonight if Conway didn't punch his bloody bat, at least there'd be one alternative to the misery of Mitchell/Taylor/Nicholls.
The irony being his refusal to play Wags has made history for another top bloke.
Probably wouldn't have stopped the batting implosion but at least Wags would have made them work harder for their runs

He would have been someone who would have given the Indians something to think about.
Looking at this XI - with no Kane, Conway, Boult or Wagner - there's not a lot for India to be intimidated by. Really only Big Kyle and maybe Timmy as significant concerns.
A batsman might bat out of their skin, but far more likely it will be an Indian one. They would have seen three rookies, two guys with little form.

You will find Williamson has a massive say in selections, in fact the driving force in selecting the team more than Stead.

A mate of mine who I do a lot of coaching with here in Australia when he is here,
Has a coaching role within the Black caps set up.
He tells me Kane has a strong hand in selections. -
