Usually some ex-Wallabies come out and spout some bullshit about the All Blacks versing* the Kaneroos in some sort of loigue game with maybe lineouts added and no flankers and how the world is going to fall in love with the greatest game in the woooorld.. and nothing happens

Apparently this is a go-er:
Sixteen teams: eight from the Champions Cup, seven from Super Rugby Pacific, and one from Japan.
Four pools of four, with semis and a final.
Will replace the knockout stages of the Champion's Cup every four years and would see the domestic finals all brought forward in the calendar.
