Yeah for once he can justifiably feel aggrieved I reckon given I can’t see them pick him for Australia if he’s not playing in this test. With all due respect to him and his efforts vs SA he’s not going to scare that Australian top order.

This Rachin kid is a bit of alright.... I like the balance of the team, with Phillips and Ravindra there as batting all-rounders. Not sure they will trouble the Aussies either, but it makes room for another seamer (Wags)

Should we be worried about Ravindra taking wickets in the second session given we've dropped santner but the South Africans have picked two spinners? Haven't seen Ravindra's wickets yet so not sure what they were like.

Pretty average day of cricket all round, average bowling to average batters

Tough day to judge. The dismissals were pretty average and looked like it was getting easier to bat, so having them 220/6 is probably a pretty good spot. On the other hand, taking spin on day one is a little ominous when we'll be batting last against a side with two spinners.

Yeah we were all over them early on but took the pressure off.

Concerning that we relied on a part time spinner to get all those wickets too
