    @toddy discrimination surely?

    What if you are vegan when you get the job then realise how moronic it is, are they allowed to fire you?

    That was gonna be my next point. You can bet if it was advertised for non vegans only those fucktards would be protesting round the clock.

    @taniwharugby That's what I thought but I can't see anything in the Human Rights Act or the Employment Act that would class it as discrimination. Same goes for smoking (something we may see more of in the future).

    @toddy I reckon if someone wanted to test it, they'd probably win, being a vegan is a choice, I guess same as choosing a religion?

    THat said, organisations like that dont normally get pulled up on thier BS, as @MN5 says above, if you advertised for carnivores only, you'd be copping all sorts of grief.

    Maybe cos most normal people would rather go on the benefit than pretend to be vegan in order to further their careers?

    Not too much different from pretending to be a militant feminist to get laid

    @mn5 if you go back you will see there is a direct link between the world being offended at everything and for everyone and the rise of veganism*

    I ran into a friend of a friend on the weekend... a full-blown activist-level vegan, he was standing with others at a stall handing out flyers, with posters about the poor animals... one of which was a big picture of a sheep... so presumably something about wool being bad. I yarned (pun not initially intended) with him for a while, standing there in my knee-length Swanndri... for which about a dozen sheep must have been shorn.
    When I left, he didn't offer to give me one of the pamphlets, nor did any of his colleagues.

    May have been about mutton - so you could have yarned with him about how good a traditional rogan josh is.

    My wife always comments when she sees lambs sproinging around a field about "how cute they are" - my reply is always "and delicious too".

    I do most of the cooking and I'm not having anymore of the vegetarian crap sneaking in.

    @mariner4life

    I too googled vegan wine which led me here

    Vegan beer directory A-F - New Zealand

    Being ever so helpful - it is a list of Vegan friendly beers in NZ - I kid you not there is a web directory listing vegan friendly booze

    I need a drink

    @crucial yeah I had already thought of the glue conundrum

    What about organic vineyards that use "natural" fertilisers?

    I'm really conflicted - booze is my major source of fruit and vegetables
